classicdave, seek correct HW VisionPro IAQ w/ W8835 setting advice
Comments (8)Thanks Dave! I am suppose to do a 2-zones. The framing at 3rd floor attic hasn't been completed yet so for now we are just using IAQ and TH5421 for 2nd floor. Later we will use W8835 with two IAQ for 2 zones. Everything is fine other than the contractor didn't enable DOD, I got the impression he doesn't really understand DOD feature. Everytime I told him I want HW VP IAQ because I want DOD he was like oh pretty much all trane board/or HW 8000 has dehumification features. Grrr! They will come back in a few weeks to complete the zoning and given that it's difficult to trust them set it right I thought I tap your excellent expertise and prepare for myself. Anyway, just make sure I understand it right. I draw the following line on the pic and 2 other questions. Correct me if I were wrong. From t-stat Btw I forgot to mention I have a 8 KW Aux backup heat strip, at the moment is wired on W1, is this about right? He told me the Aux Heat strip will come on at 3 degree lower the set temprature. For example, if I set the temprature to 68 F and the current room temprature is 66 F, the heat pump heat-on will come up but if the room temprature is only 64 F, the aux heap strip will kick in first until it reaches 65 F then the Heat pump. Unless I put an outdoor temp sensor I won't be able to "lockout" say only let the heat strip comes on at 35 F. Does this make sense? Again, thank you so much. I hope you have a great vocation. Comments (3)What a lovely home! Your blue and camel should look wonderful there. The view lining up three rooms reminded me of a similar example in a book about handling color, the point of that page being that people are drawn to the lightest space. The three colors in this particular case were all slightly different but from one analogous stretch on the color wheel for harmony, and they chose to have the foyer darkest, the middle (main) room the lightest, and the far room (dining? library?) slightly darker. It was a gorgeous example of fine design and of using light both to draw people to important rooms and using darker values to enhance transitions....See Moretrim & ceiling color to go w/sw nomadic desert - please help!
Comments (37)Just to follow up, Kilim Beige on the walls with Alabaster trim/ceiling looks great in the new house! I love the colors with the dark walnut doors/cabinets and bronze fixtures. They just hooked up electrical so it looks nice with artificial light as well. Sometimes I regret not looking into SW Pavilion Beige, but I don't know why I do that to myself...what's done is done and I should be so relieved that Kilim Beige looks great! When they first painted I thought I saw peach undertones and I panicked. But I did not see that again. It is definitely warm, but I can't detect any real undertones. Flooring isn't in yet, so I'm curious to see how the color will change. patty_cakes, you wrote in a previous post above: "As for the color/colors, just a very pleasant, warm tan that has a beautiful candlelight hue in the evening. Good luck. ;o)" I thought of your comment when we saw the house for the first time last night with artificial light...kilim beige does have that beautiful candlelight hue in the evening! I will post pics soon. Thanks again to everyone, I appreciate your input and advice!...See MoreDesign help needed for outdoor space/exterior wall
Comments (10)I like the idea of a pergola too. If you cantilever it off the wall, you can avoid having a post in your walkway. Make it deeper and use it as a shaded living area. There are lots of possibilities for that wall in addition to the ones already mentioned - an outdoor kitchen, a place for lounge chairs or a group of chairs around a propane fire pit... You mentioned the area where the salt bags are placed is the optimal place for sunbathing so are you saying you'd like to fit lounge chairs there? Your seating looks to be pretty far off of your retaining walls, if you wedged the grouping closer to the door and retaining walls, it would open up and maximize the largest part of the hardscape plus create a path so you can place some lounge chairs by the pool and then slide them back toward the retaining wall in the cold season. You did a great job on the remodel, especially your stairs....See MoreJennifer Lynn
