Vanity Color
Comments (6)Thanks roseabby, unfortunately that is not an option. The vanity is two different woods and won't stain consistantly according to the maker. We used two different woods to get the thickness on the top. There may have been other solutions but that is what we're stuck with. The mirror is yet another type of wood, it's made from the '30s trim found in our house. But I think you are also suggesting that there be some medium brown it it. Another option might be to stain it medium brown then glaze over in the muslin or a white and sand off some to allow the brown stain to show, giving it a slightly distressed look. Since the prints are French that might work? I have included a link of a piece of furniture with that idea. Comments (8)I suggest posting on the countertops geology thread. And I'd be sure to test the slab to make sure it's a quartzite--instructions for testing on that thread. To my very non-expert eye, that slab looks a little like something that was being sold as Bardigilio quartzite at one stone yard we visited and versilys marble at another. Not exactly the same, but a little alike. I got the second yard to give me a sample and it was definitely marble but being sold at both places at a price point much like white macabus quartzite (as opposed to substantially cheaper carrara--which is what we are going with). Here's a picture of the stuff that was labeled versilys marble....See MoreHelp with guest bathroom vanity color

Comments (3)I agree, I think a white vanity would look great. It'll help brighten up the space more. If you are worried about it matching, I would suggest getting color swatches first and maybe even test the paint first. I think a semi gloss would look better. Also, a new framed mirror will definitely help finish the look!...See MoreCheryl Vaughan
