It doesn't matter what color your appliances are. It'll look fine either way. The big question is why you're letting some guy mess with your vision? I think that the dark of ORB isn't the best with the light of Costa Esmeralda. In fact, all of your finishes are breezy and light, so ORB doesn't really make sense in your design. It would look fine, but your original plan makes more sense. Size is a different matter. Are you talking about using the very long, narrow Euro style wire pulls? People often get them so that they'll be just a few inches shorter than each cabinet door or drawer, and mount them all horiztonally. Just a margin of a couple of inches on either side. Positioning is a little tricky with shaker doors. Ordinarily, one centers the hardware in the frame, but that might put the bars too high below the counter to make that workable. Best to measure what's comfortable so you don't rap your knuckles. As long as they're a quarter inch above the inset, and the same placement on all, they'll be fine. Are your drawers slab front? Or are they also inset panel? That will make a big difference. Do you mostly have drawers in the lowers? Or mostly cabinets?

Beth this is a huge help! Thanks again, I agree on the knobs for the short cabinets. I think I can get away with using the same size pulls on the draws and doors (middle row) and using a larger pull for the pantry door. My longest draw/door is 30in and my shortest is 23. What size pulls would you suggest? I see a lot of pictures use small pulls and simply use two on the longer cabinets but Im not a fan of that look. Also, I was saving adding glass to the kitchen cabinets for last but now you have me thinking to move it way up on my list! Arcy- I do not have children but even if I did, I would still use pulls on the drawers because my mom had knobs and I still managed to find my way to the counter top, esp for treats :). Also, the top cabinet is not made to push then pop.

Many interior decorators like the use of knobs for the cabinet doors and pulls for the drawers. After considering all of my options, I decided to go the same size pull for all the doors and drawers. To my way of seeing it, that just made the kitchen more cohesive. Once I made the decision to go with all pulls, I did consider different sizes for different sized doors and drawer. However, I did not like the appearance at all. So just went with one size for all. It is very important to use pulls with smooth edges to prevent snagging. For example look for the first type, not the second type shown below. These are just my guidelines for your consideration. I have been attempting to get the pictures to post at a decent size and they will not - they are gigantic. But look at the European style (the ones that can snag) and the cabinet handles (which for the most part are smooth ended - but there is one that is more in the European style) at this link. Painter came today and removed all the cabinet doors and drawer fronts to sand and started the primer so I have a few days to decide... excuse the mess, this was taken this evening so primer looks dark in pic without natural light will try to take one with sunlight tomorrow. I actually like the primer color it's more of a blue grey so trying to find something like that in a lighter grey.
