Weathered Wood is the roof that I had previously and it was perfect with my grayish-green siding (Glidden High Tea, which I think is a retired color now, mixed in S-W). I used a cream on the trims & windows (can't recall the name just now) and an almost black dark green on the shutters - and a dark red on the door. I considered "blueberry" blue and plum for the door as well. I got sooo many compliments from the neighbors with that color scheme! I think that a soft black would have worked with the trim and windows too.

Weathered Wood is a roof that will work well with many siding colors, IMO.

It’s an adorable cottage. With a Weathered Wood roof, anything goes. A sweet medium blue with a yellow door is a good combination.

Purple-y gray (or grayish purple) also adds to the sweet cottage feel.
I like this color. I would probably use a brighter paint for the door.

Greens are a favorite color - in pretty much any shade.

Where is the parking area? Raking the leaves, then adding a photo from farther away would help.

If this is a current photo, then your house is in an area without summer rain, perhaps southern California. Landscaping that's renter friendly would need to be drought resistant and easy maintenance. I suggest replanting the agapanthus in the front beds with a lot of new compost, after removing the misc. shrubs and volunteers to the left in the photo.

I like this color scheme with the weathered wood look roof.

Stain the siding, paint the trim and front door. Stain the fencing the same dark charcoal as the siding.

Trim the bushes, replace the railings, plant some grass, clean up the clutter and repost. Make a walkway from the front door to the sidewalk. My take is it's probably a cute house, but it looks sorry right now.

My guess if you do those things, you won't need to paint. Paint might be an improvement, but the landscaping will probably take it from sorry to cute and that will be enough to attract renters.

Beverly has a beautiful green house with a front gable that adds charm to a very simple house. I recommend considering putting that peak on the front of the house before you get a new roof.

Have a look at this project we did in Dallas: Innere Haus Design. Great curb appeal and looks good day & night. I would maintain the white trim on the windows and paint the siding dark. If possible, replace the steps & door with wood for a nice accent. Hope this helps.

A thought came to mind. In our town, the owner of a rental property has to register it. If that is the case for you, best you check on restrictions as it could dictate taxes, # of occupants and the biggie, your neighborhood and will your abutters try to shut you down. Check with your local government before you spend any money on the property. Airbnb isn’t happy with the latest regulations.
