i also have rhis pretty ginger jar, but am not sure if the jar shape was too much of a repeat shape with the large vases franking the fireplace. they arent exact , but somewhat similar in shape to each other

Too much white "sameness" in my opinion. I'd remove the ruffled bowl and perhaps look for something to bring in natural texture such as an interesting seagrass box with lid.

Too many small pieces between mantle, cabinets & coffee table. Nothing makes an impact because of size and numbers. Just the ruffled bowl on coffee table then work on the mantle & cabinets

I'd leave the flowers and the ruffled bowl and fill the ruffled bowl sith spicy colorfully wrapped hard candies or anything else wonderully colorful and surprisng you like (glass fuschia spheres? Ice blue or green acrylic cubes?)

Thanks for opinions so far. I am asking about the coffee table. I havent begun working on the mantle, so those pieces are just sitting there for now. they may stay, they may rearranged, they may go…..Im really sure yet or thinking about them

The smaller items on the cabinets are personal and sentimental to me, so they are not being removed. I like them there are seeing them each day I feel the flower vases do make a very pretty impact on the space and am happy with them and how they look. But, thank you for the suggestion and ideas appreciated

I think the tray with the pretty items is perfect alone on the coffee table, very elegant, and my ruffle bowl back on the console. (I want that bowl.) 😁

The one item that IMO was never appropriate in your living room is this diminutive coffee table.

The scale is so very wrong compared to your seating and the details in your room.

Select a larger table and then accessorize it.

Size looks fine to me. Not every room needs large, bulky coffee tables.

This room is about refinement.

A coffee table should be 2/3 the size of your sofa. My largest sofa is 79 inches wide. 2/3 of 79 is 52. the coffee table is 52 inches long. I feel the size is fine based on the recommended formulation and also how it looks in the room. I love the table and am very happy with it. I dont need or want big oversized pieces of furniure. We just got rid of too big , bulky, heavy, wood furnitre and the new lighter and smaller pieces are a welcomed change and more appropriate for our home and space.

yes, I do love the bowl ( Jillys Bowl-LOL) at the entryway too. . I was just moving things around to see what may work. I will probably move it back to the entry table i like the ginger jar as well and was seeing if I could incorporate it somewhere. I like the tray and think its very pretty in the table as well.

Once you get the rug in and the coffee table back in place, maybe try the ginger jar and tray but closer together more toward the center. Ginger jar may be too tall but you will see.

Good idea about trying jar once table is back in place I will do that. They had a smaller version of this but in a minty blue/ green color. i actually may go back and grab it , as the smaller size may actually work well situated as you said kcooz07 next to the tray. 🤔 not sure if the color will look right, but worth a shot will play around with it .

really Beth?? oh no! i have 3 home goods close to me and saw it ( only one) at one of the locations yesterday. when i bought mine it was only one as well.

i would say keep your eyes peeled for it, as they seem to be available now, but not many available in store when you do see it. maybe show a pic of it to a manager and ask if they can hold it for you and call you when it comes in.

Your rug might change the look of the coffee table. In any case, I think the white and clear objects don’t show up enough. What do you think of these? Shop your house to try different shapes.

I dont mind the idea of a ginger jar, but, the ginger jar you had on there is too tall and looks out of place. A smaller version just like it would work much better. I also liked the rufflled bowl, where you had it before.

yes cat_ky. i wish i could find the jar in a smaller size. they had a green version in the smaller size and it was perfect! , , but the color doesnt go. My LR is light blue and gray. I love the design on thrdi and hope to find a small version in the gray/ white large one i have here. i think it so pretty.

How about some colorful coasters on that coffee table; especially if you have snacks in your living room.

I will be adding some coasters. I like soft muted tones, I have seen some wuarts, and pastel agate stone ones that were pretty i dont want nor like bright and loud colros. I want to nail down the larger/ main table decor , and the smaller touches like coasters can follow.

Something old from a junk/antique store would be fun and add some patina to the tabletop - I think rooms benefit when not everything is new

Whatever you choose think it should be something natural. You have enough shiny going on.
