Center the rug with the fireplace. Take the bookcase out of the left corner of the room and put that in the space between the kitchen and FR, where the console table now sits. Move the sectional down toward the fireplace, (after centering the rug), add an end table to the outside of the chaise part of the sectional. Someone sitting there wonâÂÂt want to move to get a drink off the coffee table. Be sure there is a lamp there as well, to light that corner of the room. Move the armoire to angle in the corner where the sectional was sitting originally. Use it for storage, perhaps add shelving or even a pull-out shelf for a computer center which can be closed up and put away. The piece is very nice, and gives good height to balance the fireplace and high ceilings. For now, try the console on the wall to the right of the fireplace, and place the new flatscreen on that. Later you may prefer a more substanial cabinet, which can hide other components and store DVDs, etc. If you do that, then try the console table behind the part of the sectional that has its back to the kitchen. Add a comfy upholstered chair in the corner, a bit closer to the fireplace, where the armoire was, along with another small side table and lamp.

If you mean TV will be on the wall in the 'south' position, and you want to leave space for traffic from the door, yes, it will be crowded. I would get rid of the loveseat which is always a pain to arrange in a seating group and will block up your room. Replace it with a pair of chairs. Try the sofa with its back to the sliders, facing the entry door and leaving a walkway from the kitchen to the side door behind it. Put the 2 chairs in an "L" with the sofa and use your end table with them. If the wall by the kitchen is solid and not a half wall, place a console table there with lamps and maybe a pair of stools under it. They can help with additional seating.

The floor plan is a big help and shows the kitchen island. And obviously you can’t move the fireplace, lol. Mimicking your current placement, it looks like you have the room to float a great sectional or a pair of identical sofas arranged in an L-shape (consider what you want for traffic patterns from the kitchen). In addition, a large chair/chaise or set of 2 smaller chairs to the left of the fireplace can round out the room. Your darker furniture tones need a large carpet to lighten up the look, or you can go lighter on the furniture. Adding a side-table between the sofas or on the far end of the sectional near the fireplace will let you warm up the room with a plant and a basket or an interesting sculpted piece. The white floating TV table needs to complement your other tables. A long LOW shelf spanning the windows or two matching shelf’s under each window would give that wall some weight and take the emphasis off the TV table jutting out in the center. Add a lamp to the left-side shelf and a standing lamp near the chair(s). I’d love to see a beautiful rug anchoring the arrangement. Post a photo. This large room has so many possibilities.

I personally do not like TVs above the fireplace. I would put the TV on the wall to the right of the fireplace and get a rounded ("L" shape, more or less) seating unit that faces the fireplace and the TV wall. A sofa table behind on the side of the kitchen would create a visual barrier but be a place to put lamps. Ideally, put some outlets in the floor so cords do not run across the space. You still can put small end tables at either end of the sofa system. Whatever coffee table you buy would be somewhat dependent on the shape of the sofa, but so many things will work. You can also put a swivel base chair (club chair, recliner, whatever) in the corner of the TV wall and fireplace wall, for more conversation seating. Good luck!
