Dining Room chair upgrade
Hey folks..would love your expert opinions. I’m upgrading my dining room chairs with DWR Bacco which I really like. They are comfortable and not bulky. I do need 8 chairs. So here’s the question. Everything else in the room will remain the same. The two options are (a) 6 gray leather chairs (all walnut legs) in the center and 2 verde/green on the sides…or (b) 6 verde/green chairs in the middle and 2 gray chairs on the sides. We are completely divided as a family on this choice and this is a big purchase for us. 😄 So looking forward to your thoughts and feedback. If you vote one way or the other, please explain why you recommended so.

The valances on the window/door in the dining area stump the appearance of the room and the window/doors should have drapery panels instead. Too many tables around your two lounge chairs. The curved glass table is too low between the chairs. Adding the two C tables on either side is just too many tables. Defining the color scheme is also one of the first steps and It’s always better to think big picture, before committing and suggest not basing all your decisions on the rug and the outdoors. 9 months agoI just opened my local Craigslist and found a number of chairs that would be more appropriate for your room and likely much less expensive.
The wood finish might not be correct for the room, but it typically doesn't take much labor to change the color of the frame of the chair.

I’m a huge fan of mixing eras and have zero problems with a modern chair in this space but the chairs you have selected just look off. I wonder if it is the colors and or fabric that are throwing it off for me. These look like something you found on the sidewalk and are trying to make work but missed, not like something you spent $4k+ on.
Are these leather? Have you considered a more textured fabric? I also think the DWR walnut leg is not dark enough. I’d look for other Bacco chairs, many companies make them. Have you considered ivory fabric with dark legs? Have you considered mahogony leather with dark walnut legs?

9 months agoThank you so much for your comments @BeverlyFLA @Choco bobo @Doods @Kendrah. Appreciate your candid feedback! . It’s interesting about the choices you mentioned! Take a look at what I have now in the room (pic attached)! 😄 I personally like what we have now but it has two issues.
- We have young kids who mess up the fabric chairs big time. I’d put silk fabric on two (and they are in misery. Looked beautiful but end of story in less than two years. Shouldn’t have gone with silk. Lesson learnt). So that why my wife insists on leather. Personally I’m not a leather fan for dining chairs…but can live with it..if it comes together well I guess.
2)We do need 8 chairs. Home is small but we have a lot of friends coming over. So 8-seater plus dinners are needed. Currently we’re at 4. Had a bench to accommodate the lack of seating but that’s in storage. I didn’t really like it.
Another suggestion I got from a friend is to do leather (if I absolutely must) in smaller doses. So just the seat leather. Back would be wood etc.
