Blueberries as foundation planting

Please give me your thoughts on using blueberries as a foundation planting.

I'd also like advice on the minimum recommended distance between a foundation and a blueberry hedge.

The foundation in question is new, 24 feet long, and has a western exposure. The site is at some elevation but is the less exposed side of the house. I have not tested the soil but am reasonably confident it's acidic (it's the only place in New England where I've ever seen rhododendrons growing wild).

I was hoping to put 6 plants, spaced 4 feet apart along the foundation. Is 4 feet from the foundation enough? (There is a very large underground boulder that will make it difficult on one side to plant any further away from the foundation.) I've read that new foundations make the surrounding soil alkaline. If sulfur is added at planting, is that enough to counteract that effect?

Thanks!
