Some July 7th and 8th pictures....Long Post, few Pics.
Comments (9)Thanks:) 'Pink Lipstick' huh? That sounds like that might be it!! If this is the one with dark pink flowers it must be. I'll google it after a bit. Maybe your strawberries would be happier growing with a ground cover like mine are doing? They (and my Iris)seem to love it so I'm letting them! It's also the only place I haven't been ripping out that awful Sedum. Sure it's a nice Sedum with pretty flowers and all, but it just shouldn't be planted in a mixed border/garden :O Thanks Karen, I love my Lavender plants and the ease of caring for them. All they need from me is a pruning a couple times a year; every other year or so a pretty hard one in spring to keep from getting woody centers. Next spring will have to whack the 'Vera' back because they are WAY large again and it was only the year before last they got it really good. They (the 4 plants) are 2 plants planted side by side (abt. 2' on center) and over the years they have basically grown into 2 shrubs. In flower (I just went and measured :)) they are 5.5' wide!...See MoreGarden Pics - Week of July 8th
Comments (13)Again, wow, great bloomers everyone! Here's some surprises from this week around my gardens: African Daisy that I started from seed fairly late actually but it's blooming and it's as pretty as I'd hoped it would be! My DD#3 helped my plant these seeds and therefore they are now "MY kitty-cat flowers" according to her! LOL This little Calendula is totally tucked away in the huge display of Shasta Daisies. I only noticed him yesterday when I was out there weeding! Ahhh I can't wait to see this Cosmos in bloom! I had no idea the Amaranthus 'Velvet Curtains' would reseed! I didn't plant any here this year but I did last year! LOL Gotta love these types of surprises! 8~)...See MoreBlooming in July
Comments (38)Edward, I always wait and look forward to your pictures. They are lovely! If I don't always comment, it's because I have been outside planting seedlings...in 100 degree heat with 99.9% humidity and it leaves me 100% exhausted. But I want you to know that I do come here and look and enjoy, while I try to catch my breath. Keep 'em coming! Kathy...See MoreNice Tet. Patterned Seedling
Comments (14)It is very interesting to me to experience the feed back from all of you on this forum. The one's I think are okay get rave reviews and the ones' I think are far out there sometimes get mediocre reviews, which is okay, I like to see what you all think, on this flower we agree. I fell in love with her when she first bloomed. I took this photo this morning, so I just grabbed my flashlight and went out and looked again, I was so intrigued by the eye and sepal pattern that I really didn't concentrate on the background color. It is white as snow. That comes from Seashells. The pollen parent was a pink seedling out of Wild Mustang crossed to Polynesian Love Song. It was light pink with a darker pink pattern much like this one, only a little smaller. Wild Mustang is out of T. Priscillas' Rainbow, so that's where the pattern came from. The 'pollen' on it is from a seedling of Jamie Gossards that is quite flat, white with a rainbow eye out of T. Chrystal Blue Persuasion x Magnificent Rainbow. I hope I get some seeds from this cross...Bob...See More- 10 months ago
