A 60" round table with a leaf.

Are you remodeling? The space is only an "octagon" because the corners were blocked off. If possible, I would square off the corners to give a bit more circulation space around the seating.

Thank you! Yes, we're remodeling the kitchen. I've been debating whether to do anything with the triangle walls, particularly the one that will remain between the kitchen and the dining room. One benefit of them is that it maintains more of a dedicated room in an otherwise very open floorplan. And I kind of like the quirkiness of the octagon.

Put doors on the triangles and add shelves for storage. Or no doors, just shelves.

I didn't mean to remove the walls, just remove that third side of the triangle, so you have an L and not a triangle. Only thing is that there might be pipes/ducts hidden in there?

Bump. Any thoughts on whether a rectangle or oval table would be better for the space? I don't think a circle table would work for us.

You HAVE another thread regarding the entire kitchen, the mud room addition and the entire remodel...........the one where "street view is unimportant.

I gave you a floor plan a while back that removed the clipped corners and also one that didn't put your island directly in your foyer. Those clipped corners depend the flooring and how much is changing.

Go back to that thread and perhaps delete this one. ? Nobody has the entire story when you start multiple threads in the same remodel.

Thank you, Jan Moyer. Respectfully, I appreciate your earlier comments, but we've decided to keep the floor plan in the drawing. I'm not planning on any other changes to the layout that is in this thread. I'm only debating on what shape and size of dining table.

Round.......and no more than 60 inches. Same answer if the corner clips come out as it is still a very square space Add a lazy susan top/center of the table. It's a reach : )
