Help me decide between two TL Washer and Dryers
Comments (15)>These residential fl washers need over an hour to get clothes washed, because of low water usage. Mine takes 45 minutes My Speed Queen can wash 2 full loads in the time it takes most fl washers to complete one cycle. Personally, I care more about efficiency, performance, and gentleness than cycle time, and I'm sure many other people agree with me on that. My front loader takes 45 minutes for a normal soiled cotton load. That's about 1.5 Speed Queen TL loads, not 2. Heavily soiled loads take longer, but they would take longer than 30 in the SQ as well (including soak time) if you want it to do as well as an FL. >No error codes, balancing to spin, mould, or washer clean cycles My FL doesn't give me error codes, grow mold, or make me run clean cycles either. It does balance before spinning, which adds a little bit of time to the cycle, but I'm more than willing to wait those few minutes so that I can wash with 15 gallons of water instead of 50 and get all the other benefits of an FL. >Bendix came out with the first fully automatic washer in the late 30s. A fl washer at that. The USA has always had front loaders, nothing new. We invented them. Why this over hyped craze within the last 20 years or so for shiny plastic planned obsolescence? I don't know what your point is here, but it seems you're trying to say modern FL's are "shiny plastic planned obsolescence". Speed Queen makes an excellent front loader. You wouldn't call that "shiny plastic planned obsolescence" would you?...See MoreCan't Decide Between Two Floors! Please Help!
Comments (9)I'm sorry I can't select which tile would be better for you based on your pictures, but I can tell you about my own experience when we selected tiles for our master bath. Granted, they were builder's grade ceramic so the quality wasn't there, but one was called "white" and the other "beige". The woman at the design center said go with the white since our sinks, toilet and tub were white so we did. Well, the "white" tiles also had pinkish undertones, probably moreso than your tile. And when the room was completed, they gave a strong pink cast to the entire room. So, try to look at the floor in all lighting situations especially when natural light hits it. Whatever undertones there are will be amplified when the entire floor is covered with it. Had I given it more thought, I definitely would've gone with the "beige" tile....See MoreHelp us decide between two contractors for a kitchen remodel
Comments (35)I've been in sales for about 20 years and I always resent it when people say that sales people manipulate because I believe a good salesperson gives the buyer enough information to make an informed decision. I think what Trebuchet means when he says they aren't closing, is that they aren't addressing the concerns of the buyer enough for them to make a decision. Tre gives the "dog & pony show" i.e. informs them of the choices and then let's them make a decision based upon the information he gave them. Jakuvall, you say you're not a salesman nor a "closer" but your definition of what you do actually fits my definition of a good salesperson: address the concerns of the consumer and give them enough information to make an educated decision. In a nutshell, you have enough education and belief in your skillset to instill a confidence in the buyer that you're the person for the job. That's why you have a better than average closing ratio: you're authentic. I'm very proud to be a salesperson and a closer....See MorePlease help me decide between these two pulls...
Comments (33)Could I trouble those of you with these lovely Revitalize pulls for pictures from a little further back, in context with surrounding cabinets? One of my issues is sizing; most of my drawers are 30 - 36" wide so I have to consider paying up for long ones or putting pairs on each drawer. I was sure I wanted Candler but the linked picture of them installed, and the feel in my hand, has caused me to re-evaluate. They seem "thick" looking, and when I used them at the model they were also less comfortable than Revitalize. When I opened drawers with Revitalize, my hand naturally fell so that my thumb was on the angled part - do you use them that way IRL? Here is a link that might be useful: not a fan of this look!...See Moremtnrdredux_gw
