I have Creme Marfil marble tiles in three different bathrooms. I have used Benjamin Moore colors for each bathroom - French White, Bar Harbour Beige and Manchester Tan. Each bathroom has different lighting (rooms facing different directions, sky lights and florescent lights, etc) so it takes some time to choose the right one. Also, I have found that each color ties in differently depending on the backsplash which is different for each room. I have found myself gravitating towards the slightly warm beiges as well. Any interesting combination is Plaster of Paris with this marble and Creme Marfil Eternal (Silestone used for counter tops and bath and shower walls. You would think Creme Marfil is an easy color to match but it really isn't. The challenge for me was trying to find the right color with enough contrast without going too dark. I have tried to keep the bathroom walls as light as possible. Just one other thought - if you do find a color that is too dark (ie Bar Harbour Beige), you can always have the paint store "lighten" the intensity of the color. I experimented with this option and it does give you other options. Good luck as this process can drive you crazy!

I'm partly done - it will probably be a year-long thing, LOL! And I probably won't do the kitchen at all, since I just repainted the ceiling white - I'll wait til it needs painting again before I tackle that again -- otherwise, I think my dh may indeed kill me. The parts of the ceiling that I have done the wall color look very nice though. And it's so much easier not to have to edge at the top of the walls, LOL!

Hi Tara. I had Danby counters for 6 years before moving this summer and am totally happy I went with it. I had a couple chips - 1 in the middle of the island that I think my kids made and 1 around a sink from a cast iron oven; tons of etching and zero staining (and we had very small children and did not baby it). I didn't love the etching or the burn marks I mentioned in another comment, but nothing else about the counters bothered me. I miss the look of it SOOOO much after our move - we now have a salt and pepper granite that I HATE. I just don't hate it enough to go through another renovation. I always looked at old marble counters and statutes thinking they were beautiful with or without chips, so if you have a similar aesthetic I don't think you will be disappointed. If you need perfect, I think any kind of marble might be a lot of work and potentially disappointing.

OK - I thought a little sketch would help. you need about a 12" drop of chain from the top of the ceiling, then a max size fixture of 30" long (top of ring to the chandelier to the bottom crystal or bottom.), then 33" above the table to the bottom of the chandelier. So, max 30" high, 28" max round, and for some chandeliers depending on the design, might be able to go to 30 wide. Chain drop is easiest to deal with from an installation point of view. Hope that explains the sizing.
