It's not something to worry about from a structural standpoint. However, whoever did the sheetrock installation did a poor job with the seams, possibly even not using tape for them. Unfortunately, since you have a textured ceiling, applying tape and redoing the seams may result in a repair that is more obvious than the cracks you already have. The only thing I can suggest is using a high quality latex caulk to fill in the seams and then re-paint. Latex caulk has some give to it and may mask further movement in those joints. Thank you very much for your response. Do you know why these occur? This is a 2006 home in northern california (high heat, low rain). is it normal home settling?
