That was only a few years ago, and I'm still angry that she's never going to get to see me get married, or meet my kids. I would love to believe, as I deeply envy those who have unshakable faith. What a comfort it must be. But my rational and logical mind have a hard time accepting it. I do agree with Lydia though. I believe we choose our life lessons before we get here in order to grow. And while sometimes it becomes unbearably painful, you'll come out of it a better person even though that may be hard to believe. I saw changes in how a terminal diagnosis affected my mom, and, amazingly, they were for the better. I remember she told me once that she was amazed at how many people were smiling at her now, and at first she thought it was because of her bald head, but then she realized it was because she was smiling at THEM first. She lived each day to the fullest, and she also adopted religion for the first time in her life. I saw the amazing comfort that was for her. And for me, dealing with my mother's death, I realized how strong and independent I really can be. It also brought our entire family much closer together. So while I miss her terribly, I can still reflect upon the positives. And I know she would want me to stop mourning for her and to get on with my life. Another thing that helped me a lot was to look for little signs. I collect perfume, and my mom only wore one perfume in her life. A few weeks after she died, I noticed that one of my bottles of perfume was on the floor. I didn't think anything of it, and I picked it back up and put it back on the dresser. The next day, it was on the floor in the same place. Thinking that was strange, I then moved the bottle a good 6 inches from the edge, and I also added a tiny little bottle of her perfume next to mine. The next day, they were both on the floor in the exact same place. Maybe it was coincidence, maybe it was one of my cats, I don't know. But it made me smile and brought me a lot of comfort knowing that perhaps she was there and telling me she was ok. I hope you can find some comfort soon....See MoreI am tiered and have a headache!!!!!!!!
Comments (6)Oh yes she will not let go... My husband and I went on a trip over Christmas. We went to Europe. She told her daughters how hurt she was and that she should be with him on this trip. They had planned to do this after the kids had grown up. Well my husband is retired Army after 20 yrs. She was in Germany with him and Hawaii. There are things that my ex husband does with his new wife that we may have talked about doing, but I would never tell my kids oh I am so hurt that was our dream. One is because any dream I have or had I don't want to be with my ex.. She is a Great Big Nut. Its been long enough she should be over the divorce by now, and for her to say these things to her children shows she is not over him, and I think it just makes the relationship with my husband and his kids as well as their relationship with me very hard....See MoreGW vs RW--a bigger sampling.
Comments (114)I assume an outdated house in disrepair would only sell quickly and for over asking, if it was priced very low and/or in an area without much to choose from. My home was just a standard cookie-cutter 80s ranch, 1400 square feet on .20 acre lot. 5 houses were for sale on my street at the same time -- ouch...some the exact same model. The market is flooded and there is a ton to choose from in the price range. But almost everything comparable was outdated and didn't show well. There are also a ton of foreclosure's and short sales that are priced lower, giving buyers a chance to 'get a deal' that I had to compete with. I watched Designed To Sell, House Hunters, Property Virgins, and Unsellables constantly for months leading up to us putting our house on the market. I took what I learned and just made simple changes for paint, decor, etc. We did a cheap redo of our kitchen to get rid of the original cabs and we put in ***gasp*** Corian counters, haha. Buyers loved seeing solid surface after every other house in our range had laminate. Our Realtor is a top agent in the area for over 30 years and she was very concerned that it would not appraise for the offer that our buyer gave. There were no comparables in the area that were priced near as high. We priced a little high, knowing that we'd probably get lower offers -- never dreamed we'd get an offer for over asking. But every single person that saw our home wanted to buy it. Staging can make a huge difference. It did for us! I really think the only reason it did appraise was because we were there and kind of 'made friends' with the woman who did the appraisal....See MoreMy drug test screening
Comments (10)Chisue, I take AmbienCR 12.5mg every night to sleep, with this work schedule and my illness I need to be on a better schedule. Bless my manager, she had the scheduling department give me back my 6pm starts instead of the 10pms I have been getting. I also take Vicodin for the pain, Opana for my back pain and Xanax to help the shaking. I am a walking pharmacy!...See More- 3 years ago
