Need help painting my entire first floor
Comments (7)I have been doing that. My problem is I have so many paint chips that I can't seem to choose colors. I have been leaning toward Woodstock Tan and Huntington Beige for my living/family rooms (they open to each other). Or else a Tyler Taupe and Lenox Tan. I love Texas Leather but I think it might be too dark. But berkshire beige and Coastal Fog might be too light. For my center hallway, I was thinking of Wheeling Neutral or Powell Buff. I just don't know if I should be looking at these colors for my living/family room instead of entry way. I have distinct rooms so I can use multiple colors. I want everything to flow but still have their own feeling. I definitely don't want anything in the yellow tones. I also just spent a lot of money ripping out a full wall brick fireplace and dark paneling. The space seems so much bigger now that it is sheetrocked, I want to keep that feeling. Any thoughts....See MoreHELP - need to pick a floor stain by tomorrow!
Comments (23)Thanks for the pictures and input! Unfortunately I now am past the point of no return!! They called me since they were ready to stain (I was at work). I popped home, nervous the entire drive -- they put the lighter of the two samples down under the cabinet area (maybe 5 feet) -- it is amazing how different it looks from different perspectives - I loved it from 10 feet away, but was nervous about the darkness when I stood 25 feet away.... this is basically the one in the upper right of the top picture (this is what they told me anyway). So after looking from various angles, I said let's do it! I definitely didn't want to go with the darker, and I didn't want to muck around with lightening it further. I had wanted medium to dark brown all along, and I figured to go with my gut.... I do have to say, I'M VERY NERVOUS how it will finally look, but I don't think I'd be able to tell between the 2 samples I was leaning towards anyway.... at least that's what I'm telling myself!!! :)...See MoreNeed help Picking a downstairs flooring material and color
Comments (6)Use the same dark hardwood flooring throughout now while you can still get the materials to match. It will make the house seem a little larger, is easier to care for and will look less like you tried to upgrade at different times....See MoreNeed help picking out a couch color for yellow-orange floor
Comments (8)I'd consider the darker gray twill, a rug like the one below (West Elm https://www.westelm.com/products/colca-wool-rug-t1657/?pkey=cpattern-rugs-flooring&isx=0.0.0), and a caramel leather chair. But really, pretty much any colorway will work on those floors. That's the genius of wood and rugs ;-) Decide what you like. And make sure there will be no problem getting the sofa into the space....See More- 11 months ago
