Is it normal squirrel behavior for squirrels to systematically remove buds off buckeye trees? I have a young one which from a distance looks dead, but on closer inspection had all its buds(planted two years ago so it’s a small tree) “torn” off. Top to bottom. Could this be squirrel, birds? or vandalism. The tree is trying to re-bud and grow btw.
