Squeegee or microfiber towel?

Whether a shower glass door has the Showerguard finish or not, is it better to squeegee or wipe down with a microfiber towel after each shower?

Squeegee works fine. I wouldn’t want to deal with wet microfiber towels after every shower!

Starting to sound like I own a janitorial supply house (not) but go there and get one of the metal ones. They're kind of a brassy color with a blade that can be replaced. They will also fit on a pole. The name on mine are called Ettore. They are so old, but it does look like they still make them. They also sell one that you can put a "bonnet" on to clean/scrub high windows. I thought I also saw some at the Home Depot, but I didn't stop and check the name brand. Microfiber cloths - leaving dust behind on mirrors

peabody1, I have the same problem using the yellow Costco microfiber towels on mirrors. They leave tiny fiber debris that really shows! I bought some kitchen microfiber towels that are sold online @ Costco and are waffle weave texture. THEY work fantastic! I plan on buying a few packs of them to use for cleaning I like them so well! I'll continue to use the yellow ones for car washing or heavy cleaning etc... Hope this helps! BTW, Costco refunds shipping costs if you don't like something and have to take it back to the B&M store.

Just to clarify ..... this Platinum Pluffle (20" x 40") microfiber that I ordered is so different than any microfiber I have used. I have window (glass) microfiber cloths, shower microfiber cloths, generic microfiber (10 to a pack at box stores), stainless steel microfiber and 20 year old hair drying microfiber cloths and I like all of them except they do stick to your hand and don't work that easily in the shower. The Pluffle is more like a very soft baby blanket with waffle type pockets of fluffy fibers. I fold it up so it is actually 8 layers of 10" x 10" fluff in the palm of my hand. I make large swipes and just turn it over or refold it when it seems to be wet. It glides effortlessly across the tile and glass and is unlike any of my other microfiber cloths. It was so worth the cost!

Getting ready to do an inservice for a client and her cleaning staff after an expensive remodel. Here's what we recommend. Most important tools for the shower regardless of material used: Squeegee and microfiber towel (used after each use, with ventilation fan always); MB-5 for regular wipe downs on all surfaces. Great for marble and granite and can be used on mirrors and glass doors as well. MB-3 periodically if you get build up of soap residue in shower. Damp mop the marble floors and the MB-5 can be used for this as well (minimal water and would not regularly steam clean marble floor as it will break down sealer over time. Do NOT over-clean marble); this non-acidic toilet bowl cleaner is great. Our clients love it. Won't harm the floor around the toilet, won't harm toilet surface, smells fresh and is effective cleaner. Can purchase all from MB Stone Care online. Congrats on your new space.

You would have to dry them, wash them, keep a pile handy, etc. ! Not worth it, when a squeegee works fine.

We squeegee & also have the finish that is baked in or something as must be created / applied during manufacture process not afterwards. But, I’ve found that the trick to easy shower maintenance is to be the first one to take a shower. The last one out has to do the squeeqee & wipe down work! ☺️

ETA we use a squeegee first & then wipe to dry the corners & base or edge around shower pan with a terry cloth. We are sort of neatnik people

So, the next step is to hear about everyone’s favorite squeegee if anyone wants to share their fave?

KW PNW Z8, I think I’ll use my microfiber towel to wipe down the corners every now and again. And super sneaky trick be the first to take a shower!

To solve the wet towels conundrum we splurged with a heated towel bar — it will surely earn its keep during the PNW rainy months!
