Judi, I added a lot of fabric pots last year to my garden. Here's a picture of an Aunt Ruby's German Green tomato that I had no place for in my normal garden, so I bought some grow bags. This wasn't a large bag either and was surprised it did so well. The tomato plant was way over my head, I'm 5' 1".

I used moslty composted cow manure in my grow bags that are that small. Bigger ones, will also add cheaper "dirt" like top soil. I will add that I'm not a master gardener, so you may not want to do what I do.
