Paint ideas either crème or sleepy blue?
Comments (5)Soft blues can look nice with creams and tans, but Sleepy Blue is fairly dark and gray for your space. I would look for something lighter, maybe SW Mountain Air, which is a coordinating lighter color to Sleepy Blue. Get a few different samples and try them in your lighting. The blue in this photo looks like BM Pallidian Blue, which is used with an adjacent creamy wall color and floors like yours....See MoreHelp me pick a light fixture for my kitchen island
Comments (5)Both are way too large for the scale of your kitchen. They will overbear the space and give you very poor lighting for a working kitchen, which seems in this photo to be very dark. Looks like you have 8 ft ceilings, some slop and a recessed area? I would really think about 3 ft fixture over a 5 ft space . this will make you feel like the room is even smaller.................I wouldn't put pendants in this room AT ALL................See MoreKitchen Cabinet/Backsplash Help
Comments (6)You have honey oak cabinets. Before you touch them, read up on what is involved in painting them. You have to use a grain filler and the right primer or the tannins from the wood will bleed through your paint. The coatings are expensive, and this entire undertaking will be a lot of work, even in your small space. Also, you already have a backsplash. It’s that 4” piece of counter material against your wall. You can remove that and replace it with tile, but don’t tile above that. And don’t use travertine until you read the threads on Houzz and know what you’re getting into there. My guess is you just painted your walls blue. It’s a lovely color, but it’s making your cabinets look orange, prompting you to want to paint them - am I right? Consider working with the cabinets and backsplash you already have, and painting the walls a more complimentary color. It will be considerably less work, and give you a better end result....See MoreKitchen Backsplash
Comments (12)I like your ideas, just not sure about that particular splash w/the countertop? is it a solid white quartz? hard to see in the pic If it's solid white, and you like the splash choice, then yes, it will be fine w/the gold hardware. be aware too that your cabinet white seems to appear 'darker' than the white quartz and tile. Is that ok w/you? You tile looks like a pillow diamond. It's going to resemble this backsplash. found one in marble w/dark dots. I found another option: they do have dolomite diamonds w/diff dot colors Builders only offer you a few options for tile, right? you could always hold off on the backsplash until after you move in, and find something your really like from a lot more choices....See MoreKelli Dreiling
