Please post some pics from farther back so we can see the whole front of the house. Is all the stuff in the pic yours or the previous owner's?

What is the reason for the railing there ?We still need pics of the front of the house showing the entry door etc. I love MCM homes but yours needs some real TLC but I need to see the whole front of the house please . Is tha your fence on the right ? Do you need a garage ? some info please . Post all pics and answers to any questions in comments here DONOT start another post .

Is that a wood walkway with a deck style railing going to the door? Do you know why there is that kind of railing there? it's very unusual and without knowing why it's there it's hard to make suggestions. If it were mine, I'd remove it and redo the landscaping to make the area more welcoming and also repair and stain the fence to the right of the garage, if it's yours.

Love your dog! I'd paint the window itself and your trim, maybe a sage green but deifnitely a darker color. Paint the garage door the same color. Stain/paint your fence the same color or something coordinating. Get rid of the weird wooden walkway/railing and replace with a gravel or stone path.

Congrats on your new home! There's a lot of potential to give the exterior some needed charm, not sure what your budget is. I think changing the windows to a sliding door would be odd on the front view of the home, but maybe you can consider hanging some pretty sheers in the window so it doesn't look so frumpy from the outside view. I can imagine a ground level paved area in front of windows to have some seating there, with some added landscaping to give it some privacy somewhat while you enjoy sitting out there. That whole area left of garage could be landscaped so mowing the lawn would be just on the front end of garage area. Not sure how you feel about the deck walkway, I would get rid of it, kind of doesn't fit really. Create a nicer walkway with large tiles leading from driveway to front door.

What does the backyard look like? Would you be able to move all the doo-dads and yard stuff from the front to the back and enjoy them there? Or consider removing all the yard stuff until you finish updating what you decide to change. I think it could look quite charming when you spruce up what is there and fix up the landscaping. It may take some time but is a doable fun project!

Seeing how much front yard there is, if you want to keep flying the flag, I'd move it out farther and to the side so the pole isn't smack dab in front of your entry.

Sliding doors with a deck aren't typical for a front entrance area and I feel that would definitely affect resale value. The picture window is nice and era/style appropriate. If that's a brown toned roof (hard to tell in the photos), I'd warm up the trim paint color to a softer, warmer cream, repaint the garage door and over the garage door siding in the same and then paint your front door to be the focal point to shift attention away from the garage. Remove that railing/decking and declutter the items in the front of the house and substitute local plantings with color, again to draw the eyes to the front door area.

I think removing what is not neccessary first would be helpful before adding new things - i like Jean’s photo of the deck removed, then adding a nice pathway to the door (moving the flagpole) so there is more emphasis on the front door - i would change the garage door color so it blends rather than stands out - i think once the hardscaping is done then landscaping will help - you have a nice big yard!

Do you not have a back yard? Your plans sound like you are turning the front yard into the back. I am not so sure a slider would make sense in a living room from the inside either. Somewhere people got the idea to remove all the front porches. FF and someone decided to put decks on the front or patios. I don't think either of those works like the old front porch did..and they don't look quite right in the end. We need more information and some inspiration pics to guide you it seems.

Too much stuff in front, as others said. The #1 offender is the brown railing. Looks clutter-ish. If it were mine, and I didn’t need it for mobility issues, I would have removed it as soon as I moved in. Let me guess - was the previous owner elderly with lots of little geegaws on display?

I like the brick; there’s nothing wrong with it.

I do have a fenced backyard and with only one entrance to it which is a side door off the kitchen. This home seems to have been modeled many times. It is on a full basement too. We inherited two large barn style shed with the house purchase just recently moved one to make room to put a hot tub in. I’d like to have a door to go straight out to a back deck and hot tub area but that would take some more remodeling Here are pics from the interior

Your interior is gorgeous!!! and your exterior has tons of potential. Start with a landscape designer or gardener to generate ideas (after you determine your budget), and if you do need a ramp for mobility, someone can definitely build you an attractive one. Accessible does not mean ugly!
