You can match 3 different tiles. But sometimes if there is too much pattern, it doesn't look good. You have a diamond, a herringbone and a brick - that is a lot in a smaller room.

I love the floor tile. The shower floor tile seems to match in color - I'm just not a fan of the pattern - I would have gone for a simpler 1x1 or 2x2 square.

On my monitor, the wall tile options you show don't seem to go at all, but that could be my computer. I would also consider large format tiles so the walls look more like a sheet of marble. You can get some very nice porcelain tiles to do that with

Find a soft veining with the grays and taupes that are in the floor. Less grout lines - easy to maintain and keeps the floor as the star of the show. You can do the floor in the back of the niche or do the shower floor on the back - either to tie it all together.

Debbi explained how to use three tiles very well. Sometimes pros suggest two different sizes of the same type of tile - i.e. large format marble on the wall, smaller hex on the shower floor and a different shape on the main floor. Or charcoal hex on the main floor and a smaller charcoal tile for the shower floor and a white-with-grey-veining larger wall tile.

My friend did her master bathroom recently. There is a large format white porcelain tile with caramel and navy veining. The shower floor is penny tiles in different blues and caramel. The main floor is a plain rectangular soft white. It works. But I won’t tell you how many three-tile combinations they tried until they got it right. (About 6).

The vanity is a light natural wood.

Red Ryder I liked your visuals too! I really wanted the cloe tile to go with the main floor. Love them both so much lol need to def find a new shower pan tile and maybe go from there. Who knew there was so much science to this! I thought if the colors worked then I was all set lol.

I’m not trying to add to your confusion, but keep in mind the slipperiness of your shower floor tile. More grout and smaller tiles are preferred so you don’t have a dangerous situation. Penny tiles, small hexagons or squares make good floor choices IN the shower for that reason.

I do love the patterned tile you chose and would want it in the main part of the bathroom. Creating a shower with subtle, plain tiles will make that patterned one the “star” - as it should be.

I think I have a very similar bathroom layout and a very similar floor tile. We continued the floor tile into the shower and used large format on the walls.

Mar77 it’s the Montauk tile by tile shop. It’s even more beautiful in person. This is the lighter color, there are two options.

Otherwise, maybe you can find a 2" x 2" square in a color that matches the diamonds. Your tiler can probably lay the sheets at a 45° angle so they mimic the diamonds.

I like it. I am trying to replicate this look too. I would go with a darker mosiac for the shower floor...matching the darker colors in the floor tile. Just for maintenance and contrast, but I am no designer - lol

Still waiting for the sample tiles. The diamond pattern I found has a bit more gray in it and no marble. Your floor tile is very pretty, but I think it has marble and not sure how easy that is to take care of - needs sealing?

For the walls I am thinking of a carrara look glossy porcelain tile with very faint veining. Will post when I get samples.

So much out there hard to keep up!.. yes floors have marble. Marble you just have to seal 1x a year. Legit a coating you out on and leave it for a day or so. I don’t think it’s that hard to care for.

Agree you should try a darker tile for the shower floor to “break up” the two that have pattern. It’s getting there - just needs some tweaking.

Search for porcelain wall tiles with a little bit of caramel veining. Less lines and less veining would look better with your primary tile, which is the diamond pattern one.

If your floor tile is the showstopper, you could coordinate with this 12x24 glossy porcelain wall tile and this matte penny round tile for shower floor (or 2”x2” squares). I know it is popular to repeat shower floor tile in niches, but instead consider using the wall tile in the niche wall with a pencil tile border. Use a grout that matches the penny tiles if you want the shower floor to look like a solid sheet of color but keeping the safety of lots of grout. Also, u less you want to showcase your shower products, consider hiding the niche on a wall that isn’t visible from the bathroom door.

@marylut gives you a great idea - a long horizontal shelf on the shower wall instead of a standard niche. Personally, I prefer that look with larger wall tiles.

I like the idea of marble on the shower walls. Would 2 by 4 create too many grout lines? So busy overall - with the floor pattern and shower walls? What kind of layout are you thinking? I am still stuck on my bath updates.

Mar77 the shower floor is called -soothing intent by karma ridge. It’s made out of porcelain. The shower walls is also a porcelain tile but looks like marble. It’s 2x4 ft and will be stacked so very little grout lines. The main floor has a mix of porcelain and marble. Here’s a picture of the tiles. Would love feedback on what color grout I should use for the main floor.

Oh- you mentioned ft, I was thinking inches. Stacked seems perfect - imo. I like your combination.

Not sure on grout color. Can you maybe add the tile to a visualizer with light and dark grout and post here. Maybe some designers will get back.

I do love the three tiles you picked. My first thought on the grout was a light beige for the floor but not sure about the shower walls. Hopefully someone with tile experience will chime in.

Do any of those grout colors approximate the overall look you envisioned for the floor?

Does the oyster gray color work with the marble look walls? I would try to use the color in the wall to tie the grout, the wall, and the flooring together. (If the marble look slab is not the wall, I apologize, I read it wrong.).

I like the outside band / inside square look because it makes the diamond pattern stand out and not the grout lines in squares. That's just my 2c.

For the shower wall I would go with a grout that blends with the tile and makes it look like a big slab of marble. No visible grout lines - tile as close together as possible. But, a designer will give you a a better vision.

What is the name of the wall tile? Its a 24 by 48" so that's large format. TIA

That was cool how you were able to do that! Thank you!.. that’s a good idea as well to maybe match tile in shower. On my receipt the 24x48 inch tile is called Charme Gold Ret. It’s imported from Italy— hope that helps :)
