Nola, it should be perfectly safe to now delete what is in the vault, or you can just leave it there for a while. It will not get back onto your computer that way. Are the multiple e-mails you speak of multiples of the SAME e-mail? If that is the case, it could just be a glitch with your ISP. Try shutting down your e-mail client, shut down the computer and reboot. Now see if it happens again. If so, I would contact the ISP about this. If these are DIFFERENT e-mails, then it does sound like spam and you will have to rely on various filters and follow the suggestions given by previous posters.

What you may well find is that the entire ISP is not banned but more likely the one server they are allowing Spam to emanate from. Your friend could well send the returned email right back and it could be delivered. Have your friend right click on a returned header then click Properties/Details/ Message source. Bring it up to full screen for easy viewing and have a look. She might see a link she can go to that explains who is dong the blocking. A company called SORBS is big into this stuff, I had problems way back but it all seems cured now thankfully.

Oh well that's entirely different, don't even look at it, why would it bother you in the spam folder that means your email program is working as it should. Let it dispose of them or just click delete on the spam folder to get rid of them. I don't care or know what in in there it gets deleted. Don't you get fliers and junk mail in your real mailbox? I know I do and it goes directly into the trash can. Every time you visit websites they put tracker cookies on your pc . If you order online you give your email address, it gets shared among the "partners" they now have your email address, they share with their "partners". On and on. I have ordered from Amazon recently and twice now the company that had the product that I ordered from Amazon have emailed me directly asking for my opinion and asked for feedback. I don't like this new development, but I did place the order and I had to provide my email address. It is what it is, also Facebook and other social media that encourages sharing every thing well it's going to happen a lot. Expect that to increase not decrease. But not using that primary email address online and among friends will help. It's your friends that are the likely culprits, forwarding emails with long list of everyone's address on them. Use BCC if you must forward! And if someone you know is doing it and including your email address then tell them to stop. I see a signature quite often asking to please use BCC or remove their address before forwarding. If someone does not know how to do that by now, ask for help or use Google to learn more about proper etiquette in email forwarding.

May I make a suggestion? As long as we have posters who add other boards to read their topic along with the conversation forum, we'll get spam pretty soon. I said this before, sometimes it's necessary. Like the time I was desperate to find the name of a flower and didn't get any responses in the flower boards. Rarely do I click on a topic anymore if it's also posted on other boards. I used to love the intimacy of this board. :(
