One of my all time favorite cardigans!!

I had purchased a cozy cardigan that I would throw on nearly every day. I had purchased it from a second hand store. I am not sure if I allowed to say the say the name here.

I somehow lost it and just found it again today. I looked to see who made it and to my surprise it still is on the website.

I have the XS. It is roomy for sure. I love how comfy it is and how versatile! I would likely suggest an XS to most people. It is bigger for sure.

I just ordered another and I am so excited I found it again. I thought I would share!! I am only 5'2 and when I bought it I weighed about 118. I weigh a bit more now.... ugh! Anyway... just letting you know for reference. Don't let the photo fool you. It really is great! It is almost like something would would throw on over an ugly t-shirt to look so much better if you are unprepared and have someone suddenly show up at your door! haha

That looks so cozy Amy! Living in the South, i have this linen blend cardigan from Nordstrom in tan and black and it is actually quite flattering if one wanted the coverage but not the bulk. It's a perfect light layer. When I wear mine out of the house, it is usally with a tank and jeans. When not on sale, it is only $69 so not a huge investment piece.

I think an open cardigan like that is quite versatile. I have several that I bought from Athleta.

Have you laundered yours, does it pill? The content is: Polyester 52%, Acrylic 41%, Wool 4%, Spandex 3%.

I used to love watching "In A Country Garden", because the hosts were an elderly couple who were just delightful. In one episode, they were having a pond put in, and their dogs wandered in to help. The Pekenese wasn't much of a problem, he just sort of wagged himself around here and there, and stayed out of the way, but the Labrador went right in to help lay the stone! I really miss that show. That's about the only one I really liked. We don't get HGTV here, so the gardening programs available are really limited.

shive - For all but the last picture I was using Nikkor (Nikon) 50mm f/1.8G fixed (normal) lens. It's super fast at 1.8 and I get great results from it. However, on my cropped sensor body it's a 75mm really and I have to be at minimum 3 feet from my subject to get a focused shot. I'm learning to step back and crop afterwards. The last pic was with a lens I'm in the process of returning. Yes, it's a great pic but it took me 20 pics to get that one and the other 19 were soft (not sharp). It's the Nikon 55-300mm. I'm exchanging it for a 55-200mm because it's a better, cheaper lens and I don't really need such a long zoom anyway. Coming in the mail tomorrow is a Sigma 17-70mm lens (Macro but not a true macro). It's heavy, but rated excellent and much cheaper than Nikon brand. This will probably be on my camera the most. On my wish list is the Nikon 85mm f/2.8 macro and the 35mm f/1.8 which I should have gotten instead of the 50mm but I'm not exchanging it because I like it too much and it's not expensive so I'll be happy to one day have both. See what happens when you ask a simple question? Sorry, can you tell I've been researching lenses non-stop for the past month? :) I'm going looney.

My favorites are Blue Ice and Teaspoon. I have quite a few others, but don't know their names, or only remember on occasion. Lost tags and a 60 year old mind. I keep these in pots and store in a shed in the winter. I'd someday like a big raised bed of nothing but small and mini hostas, nothing larger allowed. Wouldn't that be neat?

I remember how Viet Nam Vets were treated back then. I never understood it particularly since it wasn't even an all volunteer army. Most of the young men didn't ask to go and even if they did, there was no justification for spitting on a soldier. I was appalled. Thank you for your service to our country. I'm so glad that Viet Nam Vets are finally getting recognized and treated as they should be. I love Flo. Thanks for the story.

Love a cozy cardigan and your post is timely. I have a "throw on when ever I'm cold at home cardigan." I have no idea where I bought it. It's kind of boucle, cozy and warm. Just the other day, one of my (late 20's) daughters said "Mom, you have had that sweater since we were little kids." Yes, yes I have.

Mtn, I think is a great value! I know the materials might not sound super soft and cozy but they truly are.

I have had it dry cleaned. Given it has been in the bottom of my closet for a long time now and has collected some cat hair, I think for the sake of interest I will wash it and see what happens.

It does pill a bit, but for my use of it, I really do not care or notice too much. It is not something I would generally wear unless I am running some errands or going to a friends house. For me, it is something that I think of as super super casual and would only wear in very casual situations.

I have a beige one and am excited to have the darker gray as I think that color would suit me better. I will keep you posted.

Nekotish, I wil let you know how this one is when I get it. I will also post an update after washing the one I have now. It will need a serious washing as it has collected some nasty cat hair! I do not think I will throw it in the dryer. I will see how it goes.

I would not put it in the dryer either - except perhaps the "Air Only" cycle with no heat for a couple of minutes, and only by itself, as it might come out with a lot of static cling.

I'm a bit surprised that your house is that cold. We've been keeping ours at 70°F this past winter (68° at night), but for some reason, my bedroom stays warmer than the rest of the house. I do sometimes switch to pajama bottoms with long legs, but rarely. Unfortunately, since the weather has been unseasonably cold lately, our gas bill is quite a bit higher than usual, but that has not prompted me to lower my thermostat.

Orvis sells a similar sweater and i have three. Well now i have two because the moths liked one of them, too. Thats a good looking sweater, and wow, the price.

That looks super cozy and comfortable. My favorite type of sweater to throw on around the house, but it's also cute enough to wear with lots of things. Thanks for sharing!

it's pretty, and I really like the whole outfit that model is wearing!

I'm not worried about machine washing my sweaters. they only get washed when they actually need it. I use a cold / gentle setting, inside out in a net bag. if one needs a deeper clean, I'll soak it first. lay flat to dry. mine get a little stretched out so I actually prefer to machine dry on low for about 20 minutes.

for pilling, a good sweater shaver will take care of that. (tip: look for one that has replacement blades.)

That sweater does look comfy cozy and warm, and I’ll bet it looks terrific on you, Amy. I have tried long cardigans and they do not make me look statuesque. 🙄 So I’m still wearing short boxy sweaters with buttons, and realize that some day they may only be available on ebay or in vintage clothing stores. I like the flowing look of your sweater and wish I could pull it off.

Teeda, it is definitely a more casual sweater and not one I would want to wear if I wanted to look really nice.

Short boxy sweaters with buttons are totally in style right now. Of course, IMO, anything that makes you look good and feel comfortable is in style!

Cyn, no pockets. It is funny as I do not like pockets. I feel like they just add more weight and excess fabric that makes me look even shorter and wider. I am only 5'2 when I wake up and that goes down as the day progresses! lol

I know most ppl like pockets. I was ordering some leggings the other day and I was trying to find one pair that did not have pockets. It is funny how we are all so different!

That is so funny, Amy! I am 5'3", but much older than you and have finally accepted that I will look short no matter what, so pockets are a must. ;-) . It is a great sweater though.
