Need help with color/style of Luxury Vinyl Plank for bedrooms

Hi, We currently have Luxury Vinyl Plank in our open concept kitchen/living room and hallway leading to bedrooms. Would like to replace carpeting in two remaining bedrooms with LVP. I have three samples at home that are shown in the attached photos. I need to find something complimentary to the woodwork, and LVP color already in the hallway shown in the photos.

What we'd like: Don't want anything darker than what we already have in the hallway in the photos, 20 mil, low VOC, anti-microbial, scratch, slip and slide and 100% waterproof.

Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Why not use the same LVP you already have in the hallway? It’s nice when all the flooring matches and flows from room to room.

It's not just "nice" - its the only thing that makes sense.

You don't butt two different LVP to one another in any good scenario. If you laid the "open concept" areas, the possibility of extending to hall and bed should have been considered at that time.

If you inherited it in a home purchase? Match if at all possible.

I have a friend who did this floor in her house. I am a flooring person and had to bend down and look and touch to tell it was not real. Great stuff. I like #1 best. Contrasts the best with the cabinets and seems to blend best with the doors and trim. It might make the space seem lighter. As lots of wood can darken areas somewhat. #3 is second choice as I like it better with every thing BUT your cabinets. It's ok with cabs as it has some dark areas and is a 'louder' sample. But seems more contemporary. I actually like it the best of the samples by itself. Just not with your cabs as well. Do not like any of the others. Not enough contrast with the other woodwork especially cabinets. #5 looks the most dated and unreal. Others seem too dark. I would keep the doors wood stained as they are but paint the trim. It looks like it needs sprucing up and with all other finishes changed will look more like it needs it. I'm doing stained doors and painted trim in our new house but realize others may not care for the look. I do like the vinyl planks though.

Karndean has click and perimeter glue as well as glue down. CoreTec is of course one that comes to mind. So long as you stick to vinyl floors that are $4.50/sf or more, you should find plenty of vinyl floors that will have excellent characteristics.

@littlebug - I appricate your feedback, since I am open to others ideas. What color would you suggest? I do like the Scandinavian style, so I might be going with a lighter floor. Here are a couple of examples of brown furniture with gray walls, I find the look harmonious and pretty!

@V M sorry, just seeing your post above. We are just now finally breaking ground on our home so I don't have pics of the flooring to show you from my house. I will come back and post when I do but that will be some months from now. But we are paying, I think, 15K for our Multi-Length Rigid Core SPC floors in color Sandhill. Our house will be 2975 sf and this floor covering will be throughout the home, except in 3 of the full baths and the utility room. I'm not exactly sure how many square feet that leaves but hopefully you can do some rough math. Everything goes through my builder so I don't have an exact price per square foot to provide you. I also am not sure if this includes labor to install.

Thanks for your feedback. Using the same LVP color and style would certainly be easy, but since it is at least 10 years old it is unavailable

I would replace all and have it the same. The hallway won’t add a ton to your price point and it will look significantly better

The other LVP is not just in the hallway, it's throughout the main part of my house - open concept kitchen/living room. Carpeting only remains in two bedrooms. Our pets have basically destroyed the carpet over the years and I need to replace it with something more durable. I've had good luck with LVP with pets compared to both carpet and hardwood, which is why I want to go in that direction. I'm amazed in the improvements in LVP since I bought the original floor long ago!

I would either keep looking for a match or replace it all. It’s not a good look to have different but similar flooring next to each other. I think you would regret it if you have different flooring next to each other.
