[Seeking Ideas] Luxury Vinyl Plank w/Brown Leather Furniture

last modified: 6 years ago

We are replacing our carpet throughout our house with luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and I am now selecting a style/shade and brand.

I originally wanted to go with engineered hardwood, but I feel LVP is a better product for us. We are on a concrete pad, live in an Ontario snow-belt and our neighborhood attracts families; should we sell, this flooring would be more family friendly.

Now I need all the creative minds out there to help!

QUESTIONS:

What are LVP brands that are high quality and you would recommend?

  • I want a product that is high quality. Since I am not going with engineered hardwood, my budget can allow for a better quality product. I also don’t want a product that shows repeated patterns (I realize they all may, but prefer to go with a product that has mastered the ‘no repeated patterns’)

Has anyone had experience with Kraus Flooring's LVP?

  • The flooring owner and experienced installer recommends the Kraus brand, but I have not seen many reviews on this product and so it makes me not trust it. Curious to hear others thoughts!

What shade/style of LVP would compliment our brown leather furniture (it has to stay)?

  • At first I wanted to go with a light toned look (not too yellow, gray or orange). I like the shades that have a natural look and undertones are more on the pinkish side. I tried out a cool brown shade on the Roomvo AR software and thought a change might be nice.
  • My flooring guy left behind some planks so I could try out that shade throughout the house and different lighting. I thought this was quite nice of him, but now I think it looks too gray; needs a touch more warmth

What color would you paint the walls if we go with this shade of flooring?

  • We plan on painting the walls, which will help create a harmony with the floor and brown leather furniture.
  • I am pretty sure a cooler paint color will bring out the warmer tones in the flooring and compliment the brown leather. However, I am open to others ideas!

Sorry this is a long post, but I know details will help all the creative minds out there to brainstorm!

I will follow this post with a bunch of photos since I had trouble posting this with images attached.

Thanks!

Sarah
