Comments (17)Annie, the evacuation for the area was around May 2. Their trail cams stopped working around May 4 so they’re guessing it was then. Fire is a strange thing. It hops from area to area and can start up at any time when it is super dry. About two miles from my house there is a stand of trees that completely burned down. It jumped the highway and burned the other side as well. Everything around it is lush green. My daughter lives in the city and this property is just a rec project for them that they go to on weekends. This was just a tiny fire compared to others. 3 years agoThe hens and chicks aren't skipping a beat even though we had (thankfully) short-lived temps of -25C this past winter. (Just took this photo a couple of days ago.)

Walked into my den and saw a gigantic spider inside the lampshade. Took a couple seconds to realize it was the shadow of the lamp’s finial and harp.
3 years agolast modified: 3 years agoGreen anole on my bananas a few days ago - they're an extremely rare sight around here now, tho they were quite common when I was a kid. We called them chameleons because they can change from green to brown.

- My new light fixture. The last one had cups that pointed "up". This one won't collect so much dust/moths...projects the light downwards.....
