Hi Linda, Sorry for your problem. Dizziness is awful. Do you think you need a second opinion? Did you fall and hit your head before the dizziness started? Is there an ear-dizziness expert in your area? the doc I went to specialized in dizziness. Sometimes, it can be a problem with the otoliths in your inner ear. They are little pieces of gravel that help keep our balance. If they have gotten shaken out of place, you can remain dizzy. They are able to manipulate your head to get them back into place. I had sooooo much dizziness during perimenopause. It did seem to be related to my sinuses. I've heard alot of women going through perimenopause complain about their sinuses. I had a dizziness work up a couple years ago too. It started up after I had a colonoscopy. Long story short, it seemed to be caused by my GI tract losing all the good bacteria during the clean-out. After a couple months on a probiotic, the dizziness went away. I have since realized that when I abuse my GI tract, I get dizzy. Go figure. Anyhow......if I were you, I would get a second opinion. I can't make any promises, but I would be encouraged if I were you, that this might all correct itself, as you finish with perimenopause and stop having big fluctuations in your hormones. Yes I do get it and just had a very bad episode a few weeks ago. WE have Menieres disease in our family and it is a major cause of a lot of peoples vertigo so you may ask your doctor about that. What is Minieres disease? I have had very good luck when I have these episodes if I have the Epley maneuver and my doctors have taught my husband and myself how to do it at home now. I also at times have it done at the doctors. It is amazing how such a small thing as a manipulation of the head can quickly remedy the horrible vertigo. At some times I do get extremely nauseated and vomit so I always keep a special nausea medication from my doctor available. What Is the Epley Maneuver? Epley's maneuver video of the maneuver there are many youtube videos of this. It is absolutely worth asking your doctor to perform on you it can make the episodes end almost immediately.

I'm leaving for Ireland very soon now and can't tell you how excited I am. I also can't believe that both the Queen and the President decided to visit when I'm there. They must have been reading this thread....:) There have been so many good books suggested here. What I'd really like now is a suggestion for a good mystery to keep me busy while flying steerage on the plane. I found an American author, Erin Hart, who has written three good mysteries based in different parts of Ireland. Unfortunately, I read all three already but can recommend them to you. Read them in order. I checked out the website stopyourekillingme.com but don't see anything that grabs me. Don't like blood and gore or hardboiled detectives. So my last plea for some good mysteries set in Ireland!

Yeah! And my primary sent me to a cardiologist! Lots of tests.They told me that I am getting old! Yuck! Yuck! Yuck? So, when I stand after sitting for a while (and my butt hurts thank you), I sorta hold on to the floor lamp before I take my steps (Io the potty or the dinner table), one has to be aware. Spend some time with your provider (note that I don't indicate physician, but a PA or NP can be just as smart) and listen. Do what is suggested and in 6 weeks, let us know. Growing old sux!!!!!!!
