Friends-- I am *this close* to getting a 30 inch gas Bertazzoni for my kitchen. Any advice, gripes, quirks, stories about how much you love it, etc. would be very welcome. Also, if you were happy or not with your retailer. I'd be buying on the internet (which doesn't scare me for books; does scare me for 400 pound ranges). Thanks!

1. Assess your venting if you're getting greasy dirt. Maybe you need a higher CFM blower. As others have mentioned, turn on your vent before starting to cook to establish a draft pattern. 2. A high quality 2" angled paint brush is great for dusting--"dust". It gets into the grooves really well. However, if there is grease holding the dust there, it won't work well and you'll need to do #1 and possibly #3. 3. "Damp" dust or clean with a microfiber cloth and a gentle cleaner. NO oil soap or 409 or anything with ammonia. Those can damage the finish over time. Just a microfiber cloth dampened with a small bit of dish detergent if you need to "wash" the cabinets and water only if you're just trying to pick up clingy dust. Be sure to rinse the detergent if you wash them.

first off, remove the countertop backsplash that is already there. If you knew you were doing a splash, why was that installed? you should be able to remove it without issue. you can remove hood, tile all the way up to crown molding, and reinstall hood. you can also tile along the tops depending on how long the wall is I would have been better if they made you a larger crown to go all the way to the ceiling,,like this If you stop short, it will look like this

It is unclear to me whether you would need a custom hood or not. ModernAire is one possible source. Before that, however, please read the hood material on this forum for understanding of the requirements for good ventilation. Requirements precede the ventilation system parameters that can achieve them.
