Big difference: Latex is a support system designed to replace conventional springs. More expensive and made with natural latex (which is not cheap). Memory Foam is conventional chemical foam. Its not a support system and tends to make you sweat profusely as you 'pocket' into it.

That sucks. It is time to do some research. First, who did you buy it from? We have sent mattresses back for loss of consistency but it takes some effort. Helps if it is a model we still have on the floor. That way you/we can weight test it and see how deep xx pounds sinks on the display vs yours. Second, how is your foundation? If it is on a bad boxspring then the mattress will just sink. Third, how is the bed under it? My uncle had a nice wood bed and somehow only used two cross slats, one at the head and one at the foot. This wasted a mattress set we sold him but we got to the bottom of things. Do some investigating yourself. Especially if the frame or the wood bed is not right you want to make it right BEFORE the mattress company gets involved. Not entirely honest I suppose but some mattress companies hide from warranties often enough I don't feel bad. Oh, and search for any stains on the mattress and try to clean it before they come over. Thats another out they have.

There's a lot more to know about memoryfoam, and foam mattresses in general, than is hinted at in this post. I suggest that you check the forum at the link and read some of the back posts and reviews for a wealth of information. I have a memoryfoam mattress. Regarding the heat issue, yes it exists for some people. I sleep hot on my mattress sometimes. It's an issue with body temperature, but the mattress definitely contributes. In my case, the problem is not constant, and I like the feel of the mattress and the sleep that I get on it. I'm still working with padding material to help the heat issue, and haven't found a definitive solution yet. Foam mattresses can be used on many types of foundations including plywood and platform beds with slats. Again, there is discussion of this on the linked forum. If considering a foam mattress of any type, I would stongly recommend one of the reputable internet companies, rather than buying the outrageously-priced T brand. Nancy, I have a couple questions for you. I was wondering what type of foam is in the mattress and what the foam density is? Also how was the mattress packaged, in a box or roll? I sell mattresses online so the majority of them are shrink wrapped and boxed but that doesn't mean all foam mattresses can be. In any event, I would give the mattress a day or so to fully decompress, if it doesn't even out it may have taken a set in the packaging and need to be returned.
