I would go with the teal turquoise one because I think it mitigates the otherwise potentially *stuffy* feel of the classic Chesterfield. I recently remodeled and I reupholstered a vintage chair I owned with a modern fabric instead of the *expected* blue or moss green mohair that it would have had originally. I recently remodeled and I have quite a bit of teal blue in terms of my choices - different shades of blue and they all work nicely together - at least in my opinion. It is NOT a monochromatic beige scheme. Even the interior of my cabinets are teal - but that is more of a hidden surprise as the interiors of the glass front cabinets are the standard wood matching the doors. I was told that white or wood was standard for cabinet interiors and I asked whether I coud pick a color and my designer said of course and liked the idea. My interiors are a combination of painted and formica clad - the formic is for shelves and interior of the sink cabinet where I wanted a surface that was more durable in terms of cleaning.

With seeing the room size and style, and with your description around use, wondering if you have considered a very large sectional in a configuration that suited your room. A lounge section could also be a nice feature. I now think a generous love seat and extra chair/ottoman with the couch is a good option in that space and no matter the seating choice, a rug would be great addition. I noticed your tuffed couch example (perhaps you want leather) but be sure to test, as it is probably not very comfortable. I’d be looking for a more relaxed style for comfort and visually.

Thank you! Nice idea! I like MCM style but was trying to have a farmhouse feel with cozy throws. I’d probably put in similar chairs to the one in the picture. My great room is similar in style with same flooring and fireplace except I have sliding doors directly across fireplace so behind the other sofa in your pic.

Any of the blues are nice with the orange. Your idea for just using a window treatment with the blue is also nice. I like the window shade Paul used, and also look on Etsy; there are some sellers there with really unique items. I think a plum/eggplant color in your space could also be amazing. I think someone further up in the thread showed a room with that color combo. On an unrelated note: Is anyone else having problems with the site? I can pull up discussions but cannot access the comments, and cannot post new comments. I can apparently comment on posts I’ve previously commented on, and read comments on these posts. However, I can do all of this only if I access it through my Houzz “Activity” menu, and only if I am on Desktop mode on my iPhone. (Which all I use of late is an iPhone and I don’t use the Houzz app.) I’ve never had this issue before, so not sure if it’s site related.
