help finding the right curtains

I’m doing boho decor in my home & having a hard time trying to figure out what color to do the curtains. They have to be sheer since I have many houseplants. I just got a royal blue couch with mustard yellow pillows. I really like these from Target thinking maybe make this the middle two panels & what color on the outside without making it look to busy? Do I go plain on the carpet to cancel out the business of the curtains?

I like those panels! So pretty, and great for your boho theme. You may as well find a patterned rug and pattern it up! I think it can be really tricky to mix patterns, but I see a whole lot of that these days from some of my favorite designers. I agree that maybe just keep curtains you're showing without adding more.

Bump because I want to know too! That Cote de Texas site was soooo helpful. I am in the process of putting up floor to ceiling silk-y panels with a woven shade mounted at the ceiling. Her pictures confirmed that I was doing the right thing! It was enough inspiration for me to get to it and start installing! I am still trying to determine if I want to add another layer of material, how and where would it go? I would like a layer of sheers in there somewhere--maybe behind the woven bamboo shade? (In front would look dumb because you could see the woven shade behind it) I would just want to pull these closed at night once in a while. I have only done my family room window so far, next up is the slider in the kitchen and I can't wait to share the pictures with everybody who has helped me here. So, I'm bumping away for more window ideas.

Please help find the right colors for cabinets, trim and ceiling

Hi amysrq, The colors I need to decide on right away would be for the corner cabinets, the shoe cabinet, the trim and the ceiling. The kitchen cabinets can technically wait a little longer. However, I feel that I have to choose the color for the kitchen cabinets at the same time to make sure they all work together. Perhaps the dining cabinets and the trim can be the same color, and be a shade lighter than the kitchen. But I am open to any ideas. I agree that the foyer ceiling looks chopped up but didn't think about doing the same gray on the ceiling. We have a bathroom with a slopped ceiling and have painted that ceiling a shade lighter than the wall color. May be it can work here also.

Losing the verticals will help a lot. They're practical but that's about it. I did see the sideboard in the model pictures but putting furniture in a space for looks versus practicality and function can sometimes be two different things. The width of your dining table top will also determine whether or not you can manage a sideboard. How wide is it?

Buy 95-96 and have someone take in the the few inches. I sew and its a quick job. If thats not a option then maybe use the non sew tape method in link. Havent got my furniture in yet since I’m just moving in but I included pics of space and furniture also going to get mustard yellow pillow covers.

I like this look for your room and the warmer tones in the art and fabrics tie in with the wood cabinets.

Try overstock for window treatments.

I love the way the drapes you posted relate to the color of the kitchen cabinets, but to my eye, they don’t play well with the navy furniture. Are you open to a different color for your couch? Also, do you already have a layout in mind? It’s often more flexible to opt for two chairs instead of a love seat.

I’ve just realized you’ve already purchased the couch and loveseat. This set of pillows and throw from West Elm would tie in the mustard color you mentioned with the navy.

I was thinking a pink accent chair to go in the space so I opted for a loveseat & a smaller sized set to not over crowd the space. Really diggin the pops of color.

I discovered by accident that if I press and hold on a photo in my ipad photo library, it will remove the background. It doesn’t work well on some photos if the background is too similar to the subject in color tone. It gets saved as a new photo by selecting ‘share’ and ‘save image’. I have a drawing app (Adobe Fresco) that allows me to layer and resize photos on top of each other. I love all those saturated colors in your last post. If you find a pink chair, I’ll add it to the mock-up.
