Please help me remember the name of this old kids book

last year

For the last few days I've been thinking about this book I read years ago. I can't remember the name of it though, and it's driving my CRAZY. I cannot remember who wrote this book or when it was written, but I'm guessing it was probably written in the 80's, 90's, or 2000's (again though I can't remember). Other things I can say about this book is that it is illustrated and has color (it has pictures, not just black and white), and it is not a chapter book (just a short story).

Having said all this, the book is about a mouse who loves to sleep (she does this a lot in the story). At some point in the story, she starts writing. I can't remember what she writes, but I think it was a either a book or a letter. At the end of the story, she ends up winning an award for whatever it is that she wrote, and the award ends up being a key to a new house. She meets another mouse (who also likes to sleep), and she ends up marrying him.

I wish I had more information about this, but unfortunately this is all I remember. If you have any ideas about what this is I'd love to hear.

Hold off on writing letters until you have consulted an attorney. You may have a case, and if you do, let your attorney guide you in actions to take. You could inadvertently jeopardize your case if you start a vendetta too soon, and if you do not have proper documentation to back it up. From what you have posted, your doctor-patient confidentiality has been breeched. However, think back. When logging for treatment, did you sign any papers with fine print that you did not read in full? There could have been a cover-your-butt statement therein that permitted marketing products to you. What has happened in your case does seem brazen. It would seem logical that the Doctor's office would know this and would have covered this situation somehow. If not, it has the potential to be a very expensive mistake.

Do you think he might be trying to make you mad enough to leave. If he can dump on you and your son and your still his bed mate then what does he have to worry about. If he is still keeping so cozy with the Ex maybe he has unfinished business with her. You have been living with him that long. Why not be married to him yourself? I get the feeling your not apprecated like you should be. Giving your son a bad dad may not be better then no dad. Moving again might not be so bad of an idea. Why is he dishing out punishment for your son and you don't get a say so on his daughter drawing on your things? As for the party if he had to clean up the mess all by himself thats what he gets for not following your wishes. I hope you had a BIG FAT "I TOLD YOU SO"!! Your teaching your son to be a door mat. It isn't okay for your BF to treat not only you but your son this way. Find you and your son a nice place to live and worry about keeping the two of you happy. If Mr wonderful comes along and treats you and your son good then proceed. Moving from one BF to the next is wrong for both of you. Listen to The dad he didn't have to be like 20 times a day. If you don't find that kind of man stay home.

@bragu_DSM 5 no it's not a Beverly Cleary book. I checked a website that sells her books. I would remember the cover picture and/or title if I saw it, and I didn't see it on that site.

@bragu_DSM 5 unfortunately I don't think that's it. I googled the book and the main character of the story is a male mouse. I specifically remember the mouse being a girl in this story.

I found this site called "book cave" and it gives hints on where to look and how to look for a book when you don't know the author or title of the book. I asked at the library, but nobody recognized it. The library director said there are probably hundreds of children's books with a mouse as the main character.

I’ve been looking for the book, too. It’s fun to think of the number of people who are trying to help the OP. Perennial, if you ever remember more details, add them. I can remember a Children’s Librarian from my childhood. She knew ALL the books! Hoping that at some point we come up with the right title!!

When I worked at the Philadelphia Library we often had this question - and this was in the 1970's before we had computers or other online resources. Now there are so many really neat resources to check.
