99% of web cabinets with one color one style are cheepchinesecrapola. As is anything used on HGTV.

After doing a lot of research and getting very expensive quotes from some local options, we went with cabients.com. I am happy we did. The quality is decent and couldn't beat the price. I like that they are solid wood and not particle board. They feel solid and the soft close is nice. We worked with Adriana Love and she was very patient with my many modifications and requests. Due to covid there was a delay (ordered in beginning of March and shipped end of May). The shipping company they worked with was pretty terrible - I took a day off work on the scheduled delivery date, only to get a call that morning saying that the cabinets didn't fit on the truck so they had to reschedule. There were a couple of small mistakes - one filler piece was the wrong color, and one cabinet was not the extra depth we ordered. They quickly replaced the filler piece and we ended up just using the cabinet they sent (the one to the left of the pantry was supposed to be the same depth as the pantry) and requesting a refund. We've been living in the kitchen for a few months now and are loving it (-:

It's not worth your health. I could barely get past the $25,000 price tag. Is your kitchen huge? I had a brand new kitchen installed (my own contractor, not HD) and purchased cabinets and granite at HD for under $7,000. And they were gorgeous. Everything went well and fast. I'm so sorry this happened to you. It's time to send a demand letter, should your social media campaign not attract immediate attention (which I think it will). Handle it all FACTUALLY, without and blame and emotion. Hard to do, I know. Present basically a demand letter on Social media, with a few photos of the most egregious errors. A demand letter doesn't contain "you" and "blame"; it merely states facts. "On (date), (type of) cabinets were ordered at (specifics) for the amount of $25,000, upon the promise of timely performance in installation. On (date), I was informed that (portion of order) had not arrived. On (date), (whatever other details). On (date), I was apprised that 15 doors were damaged in the warehouse. Offers were made to me to accept (amount) in lieu of undamaged cabinets doors in this $25,000 kitchen, offers which were, of course, declined. Upon (date), installation occurred, with the following major errors (list). As of this date, I am still awaiting (what you need). I respectfully request that Home Depot resolve this matter within 10 days as I trust it can be resolved without legal action." Something like that. You will get attention.

Maple takes stain poorly, so I would not recommend it for what you are trying to do. I don't think your choice is dated, just not on trend. Honey oak is still considered dated, as people haven't forgotten the 90s yet when it was used in 90% of new builds and remodels for a decade or more. Even that doesn't mean that you shouldn't like it, just that is was overdone and people who care about such things got heartily tired of it. But your dark stain is a very different look from the "golden oak" trend. In the stain you are looking at, the Cook's Kitchen is saying it evokes Craftsman kitchens from the early 20th century, which is so old that it is now vintage or retro rather than dated. You'll see people do that look in homes of that style. Current trends in oak--which you can take or leave according to your taste--are toward lighter grayish/driftwood color stains. If you Google rift-sawn oak and look for slab cabinet doors, that will be some of what you see. Oak comes in two species, red oak and white oak, which differ in colors (neither is really red or really white, but white is lighter and I think doesn't darken as much over time). If you are going with a dark stain, I don't think it will make a difference. The plain sawn, quarter sawn and rift sawn are about how the tree is cut into boards, which affects the grain pattern. Oak has a very pronounced grain, so people are very opinionated about it, and how it is cut. Rift sawn is the most uniformly linear, followed by quarter saw, and last plain sawn having a lot of the oval figures you see in your sample. It depends on what you like and want. And can afford, since quarter and rift sawn are more expensive. It sounds like your cabinet maker may only offer plain sawn (though if you said rift sawn/quarter sawn and he didn't understand what you were asking, I might be concerned about their experience and competence, unless it was a salesperson who only knows their line). If you like the grain of plain sawn oak, I think it can work, and I don't think the dark-stained oak is a look that has been done enough in the past 40 years for it to seem dated. I'm doing a similarly stained cabinet, but with alder (alder is softer than oak, but has a subtler grain pattern). I'm doing Shaker, though.
