First time posting Did I made a mistake by buying a Cookware set
Comments (15)THANK YOU Very much for posting all your opinions. I guess I'll be keeping the set. BUT I'll be adding some other pieces to it from other brands/Materials. While REALLY cleaning my kitchen over the weekend I found some pieces of cookware that I had NO CLUE I had. I think my mom brought them over last time she came over to visit. All stainless steel (I think). the pieces are a big frying pan and a small one and then there are this other pieces taht I don't really know what they are called but it looks like is meant for you to cook different things on top of each other????? I a going to have to call my Mom and ask her. I couldn't tell the brand it has a big L on the handle. The handles are plastic. As for the Scanpan set I might come over later and write a review on it. So far I like it I amde omelletes the other day and it was rally non-stcik and so easy to clean. However I made spagettis last night and the stock pot took a little long to boil the water. Mind you I think I added way to much water LOL The place I ordered the set from gave me a pasta insert and I wasn't quit sure when stop adding water so once I put the spagetti in water started to come out LOL Was the first time I used an insert so now I know better. I hope next time it boils a little faster. I also read (AFTER i got the set) something about pots with the shinny bottom are not good to use in a flat stove???? Maybe taht's why my stock pot didn't boil the water fast enough??? Anyway THANK YOU a lot for taking your time and helping me out. Now I want a couple of the LC pieces :o) Cathy...See MoreStonemark Granite kitchen Countertop from Home Depot
Comments (23)I have purchased Stonemark countertops from Home Depot and love the look, color, and feel of my countertops but my experience with our area installer has been very distressing. One section of the countertop has a 1/2 inch by 1 inch chip and another section has a scratch in the middle of the island under a direct light. The imperfections either were there when the granite was pulled from the truck or were incurred during installation. When I went to sign off on the installation I noted that I was unhappy with the chip and the installer said that they would not replace the piece. They only offered to refabricate. I had him refill the chip twice with different colors and it still looks awful. I can deal with the scratch being filled as it seems minor compared to the chip. It has been 9 business days and no one at Innovative Stone will return my phone calls. I have purchased $25K of cabinets, flooring, and countertops ($6K of Stonemark) for my kitchen remodeling project from Home Depot and it all has been a fairly good experience up until this install. Innovative Stone is not even responding to calls made from my Home Depot expeditor. I am in Ohio so it might just be my local installer but beware. I realize that a chip is not covered by warranty but how can they install a countertop with such a large chip and consider it a good business practice? Does anyone know how the refabrication process works? I am assuming that they will grind the stone where the chip is and feather it back into the edge of the piece. The chip is on the front of the countertop where it meets another piece of granite. I am concerned that if I agree to have them refabricate this piece it will look odd and then two pieces of the countertop are affected....See MoreI want a vanity a step up from Home Depot/Lowes
Comments (17)Why don't you shop for what you like vs. by the cost of it? It's really impossible to rate them step by step, since the market is so broad. Just start shopping online to see what speaks to you. Then narrow your search by that brand, or type. Then when you find the one you really like, start comparing on that item. I'm willing to bet that's what 99% of the shoppers do today -- at least the computerized ones! ;)...See MoreKraftMaid Layton Cherry Cabinets from Home Depot - feedback?
Comments (2)I put Kraftmaid Layton in my previous bathroom 6 years ago. I thought it was fine there, but frankly wasn't impressed enough to use it in my kitchen or my new home. It feels sort of flimsy. I've seen KM cabinets in other people's homes and it looks fine, so maybe it's the flat panel nature of Layton that makes it feel "thin" to me....See Moretartanmeup
