I didn't realize I was being too sensitive. To me, from a technical perspective, it just doesn't match up. I've seen some kick a$$ seams on GW where they match perfectly, and we had two big slabs for them to choose from, so I was just expecting that they could do a better job. Yes, they have already taken the piece back and will reshape the whole thing. There are no seams in this piece. They had actually done a new template and said it would be no problem to position the sink with a 4" set back, but then they twice got in slabs that don't match the rest of the counter. So they've now given the options of having the slabs not match or cutting the existing sink piece to try to get the sink closer (although it still wouldn't be as close as it could be). I'm prepared to push for more options, but I want to know everything wrong with this plan before we talk to them again.

Germain, Can you send me a message offline? I will send you pictures of my windows. Mine are custom wood Windows but that will give you an idea of the seals. They are not installed yet. Looking at those pictures, I see a combination of installation issues and a hack by someone. It looks like the IGU was broken and replaced. I have never seen the black plastic gasket installed like that. The third picture looks like a stationary panel and a tilt turn window but it looks wrong. The windows are installed way too close to the wall. I have seen multiple installation of European Windows and none of them look like this.

The pictured wood-shim-and-polyester-over-the-flange method of supporting a sink is a guaranteed failure without additional support. I'm not crazy about the shelf brackets. I'd be a toughie, but you could still get a Hercules Universal Sink Harness (Braxton Bragg) or a Sink Strap (Regent Stone Products) to support the sink. If you did, you could stand in the sink without repairing/replacing the cabinet. The front rail on frameless cabinets is nearly only decorative in nature; it functions as a doorstop and as a stretcher to keep the cabinet sides apart when the HUSH or Sink Strap try to pull them together. I wouldn't worry about it. When you strap the sink in place, you've turned the sink into a 9" deep stainless steel truss which supports the stone better than any melamine. I'd make sure they applied a generous bead of silicone between the sink flange and the granite bottom. See if you can slip a thin knife between them, please. A topical bead is useless.
