I knew exactly who you were talking about... saw clip on AD IG last night. True. I have no idea who either of them are, but recognized the Hellboy photo (yet never watched the movie). I love the kitchen. The living room is beautiful. Not a fan of the bathroom carpet and their bedroom just looks unfinished.

I really liked the 2 sided sofa. It was a beautiful home, but most of it was a bit too too for me. That green tufted double sofa makes sense to me. Everyone wants to stretch out. ( I guess that's why sectionals are popular?)

I think the thing about the (male) host is that he was simultaneously showing off and seemingly ... embarrassed?... by his good fortune or his lavish expenditures, IDK. It was off-putting.

I think the concept of .a windowless bed alcove is an interesting idea. Not sure where I come out on it.

I am ever the impractical one, but even I don't get wall to wall carpet in a bathroom. (though note that the W/C was not shown and i bet it was tiled). It's not just that it can get ruined (not important given their "budget," though not very green). It's that it feels so unsanitary. I don't want my bare wet feet on carpet. Eww

I hated the bedroom. The pink bedding looked like something from grandma's house in 1960 and not in a good way. The bathroom carpet was another thing that turned me off. In general it was all a bit too flowery for me, and I don't care for the shiny paint finishes, but I did like the kitchen. The one thing about the kitchen was the narrow space between the island and the perimeter cabs. It didn't look like you could stand in front of the oven and open the door. Maybe just an optical illusion. I always look at that ever since I got into a debate in our last house with the architect who designed our kitchen addition. He tried to tell me 3' was enough space between the perimeter cabs and the island, and I knew I wanted 4'.

I didn't like the bedding per se, but I think the over-pillowed bed with all the shams and such looks like grandma's house in 2020, IYKWIM (guilty).

Loved the kitchen, "garden room" and bathroom but for the carpet. I think a bedroom with no windows makes a lot of sense for someone who sleeps during the day but this one reminded me of my very girly girl teenage sister's 1960s bedroom. I thought many of the light fittings, to use the owner's term, were so gorgeous! Fun tour - thanks mtn.

Lily Allen is a well-known singer songwriter in the UK who had her most success in the late oughts. She has a bit of a quirky style. She's had more limited success hear. He's been on Stranger Things the entire run.

I adore the kitchen. I love the fact there is a shelf of cookbooks that actually look like they are bought for cooking, and not for looks. I can appreciate the limitations of the kitchen in such a building, and trying to squeeze in an island.

I detest carpet in the bathroom, it is such an English thing.

I have no idea who he is, and the only thing I recall about her is hearing a British friend refer to her as Lily Effing Allen, and not in a good way.

I love the kitchen and the Zuber! I actually found much to like here, although it didn't seem to mesh well with the personalities as they came through in the video.

The cookbooks seem unstaged, but I have to laugh at the island. Yes, every American family has like a dozen pomegranates and 8 persimmon, and nothing else, in their fruit bowls! Banish the banana, ladies. Hide your apples and pears please.

My hubby would love a bedroom with no windows! Especially for napping.

It's a lovely home, but for my taste, there are too many floral patterns and then there is the pink bedroom. It looks really girly and my husband would not go for that at all. I lean more towards plaids, stripes and geometric patterns in earthy colors. And, definitely no carpet in the bath, please!

My DH doesn't really perceive certain colors or patterns as girly per se, especially in decor. He might not choose them left to his own devices but it isn't like he'd find a pink bedroom disconcerting.

The house across the street from DH and me 25 years ago had a windowless bedroom, on purpose. He was a late night TV guy. I thought it was odd but it served its purpose.

I did not find the host off-putting. I found his manner almost endearing.

For me, he was trying to be funny but was not... although she giggled often. Seems like it would be tiring on both sides.

I can't picture my hubby ever thinking of something as "girly", but he doesn't care for certain colors and he doesn't like floral patterns, lace or ruffles. He's always taken an interest in the decor of our house although he's not terribly interested in smaller details like pillows or art work and if we are choosing paint, we'll decide on the color together, but he leaves it up to me to select the shade of that color. He has no interest in looking at paint samples. However, he really likes to be involved in choosing rugs. While he doesn't like florals, he really likes paisley. I think that's because it reminds him of the 60's. Aren't people funny?

Luckily, our tastes are similar so we rarely have a conflict and everything tends to work out.

Both my DD’s would love a windowless bedroom.. This one was more an alcove with doors as it was part of a bigger space.

My DH is fine with floral but I don’t think pink bedding would fly.

This was a mixed bag for me but I did love the kitchen! eld - I agree that is a swing and a miss on the wallpaper installation.

Is that a swing and a miss - or does the wall butt out surrounding the fireplace - and the wallpaper turns a corner?

And I also dislike that bathroom carpet! I would not, could not put my wet feet upon it!

Oh jeez, I love those two! He is really very funny (the opening is hilarious) and she is fun, too. I especiially love the kitchen and the garden room. ETA: agree about that portion of the wall paper , though.

Off to look at Zuber wallpaper which I absolutely need now. I am planning a "French" bathroom for our downstairs guest room and library where our only guest for the most part is my traveling buddy who goes to France with me and fell in love the first time I took her there-maybe because I have always loved it since I was a child. Ha.

I’ve never heard of him but I have two songs she did (Not Big and Somewhere Only We Know) that I’ve listened to and enjoyed for years. Interestingly she sounds far more posh in the AD tour than she does in some of her songs and I wonder which is the affectation.

I did not like much, if anything, about the house— the kitchen is pretty but not practical enough for me and the other rooms are just the wrong side of overdone. The two of them were insufferable.

I noticed that wallpaper installation fail also. I didn't really care for most of the home, and both of them got on my nerves. I had no idea who either of them were either.

I enjoyed his performance in Stranger Things and have seen him on a few talk shows. He's generally likable and thoughtful but also complicated. He's been pretty open about his alcoholism, depression and bipolar disorder. I suspect he was a little nervous and ON for this, he's usually not quite so over the top.

Clearly, they dropped a bundle on their house. Many things were lovely but the whole seemed less than the sum of the parts.
