Backsplash Help for Creamy white cabinets, soapstone...
Comments (19)Bestyears, My cabinets were painted in the factory and called antique white, but I can tell you that it is a near perfect match to BM's Marble White OC34. Thanks for the photo, this is all so helpful. I am in the process of calling marble yards and getting pictures sent to me, and saw some in person. I really love the largest tile in my photos as I feel that the deep charcoal vein and warm tan veins, with the clear white background is most complementary to my kitchen. Finding that is proving to me most difficult. Makes me think that subway or marble mosaic is a much easier choice. But then again I have waited this long to find the right thing... I am so grateful for all the ideas and help you all have given me. I was on the building forum a ton about 5 years ago when we built our house and I could not have done it without all the wonderful support, ideas and knowledge! Comments (3)Not an expert, but I do have PG and did a lot of tile shopping. Try Sonoma Tile Maker's Stellar line. There are a wide range of colors (they do custom as well) and shapes, from 3x6 subways to a huge number of shapes and textures. There are some hues with the same grey or brown undertones as the PG in their standard color mix. The best way to check them out is to seek out a local dealer, take your door and PG sample, and bring home a few candidates to try in your light. Some examples might be smoke in the crackle or prairie sand in the matte. Comments (7)"My questions are: Do you think this is a good combo? ....Is it dated or traditional to do the different tile around the cooktop? I just feel like all glass will be boring and all chevron would be too busy." Hi Sabrina, my answers are: I don't think it's a great combo. Yes it is a little dated - but if you want it, you should do it, just with better tile. Agreed - you have good instincts. Do you have inspiration images for your space? If not start Google-ing images of kitchens that use your counter material with white cabinets. What you'll find is that many of them use the counter material for a bs. You're also not the first person to struggle to find a tile for it, even here on Houzz. You're not even the first to pull that chevron tile. Most people will pair that material with gray - consider going for white. I know your cabinets are white, but it frees you up to choose a really bold shape, or a large format tile, something more modern and more beautiful than gray glass....See MoreBack splash Ideas for Super White counters and white cabs?
Comments (7)Thank you. Yes, definitely going with white. We have to make wall color choice prior to closing, so going with their white which is one shade of white I don't care for. Will be bringing in backsplash later. Just not sure what would go well with super white stone, which I love....See Moreeld6161
