Comments (5)Rita;Thank you, I just love them lilies.I have had people stop in the middle of the street when I was outside and yell at me, asking what are them Red flowers. One even parked in my yard and got out to come get a closer look at them and ask what they were. They do attract attention as they are so bright, and so pretty.yes, the Daylily certainly gets a A for effort.I was so disappointed that it didnt open up all the way, but, it has more buds, so maybe next time it will open good. CINDY, Thabnk you. the days got warmer, was 83 today, and the nights are suppose to warm up, too. NANCY:MAYBE your lilies will bloom soon, too..I never knew anything like these existed until I seen the pictures that Rita posted of hers.So many gorgeous lilies, that I never knew existed.I guess the orientals bloom around July and August ? I was disappointed in the daylily when it didnt open up right, but, it still has more buds on it, so maybe one of them will open wide.at least,I can see its going to be a beauty when it blooms right. I found a bunch of scapes on the daylilies today, that just appeared over night. Jean...See MoreDaylilies no-show this season
Comments (23)This is my no shows, Cimarron Rose - I love this one but he is so tender. I will bark this fall. Continental Holiday - love it too, will bark. Diamond Shadows - moved last year, not a hugh favorite but nice. Electric Marmalade Magic - I have only had maybe one good season with it. Doc Alexander - sorry it didn't bloom, that was my grandfather's name. Free Wheelin' - not a big favorite but like it. Flamboyant Diva - was moved last year. Peacock Maiden - is in to much shade. Mort Morss - I barked but it was moved last year. Mynelle's Starfish - pretty but in the foliage so don't really like anyway. These Eyes - was moved last year. If I had not barked Bella Sera, Lone Star Wagon Wheel or Regal Fantasy they probably wouldn't have bloomed either but I love them so it was worth the effort....See MoreThe end of the season is getting closer
Comments (10)BIG HONKING HEARTTHROB is sure a pretty one. love then dark reds and purples. I kept pulling the queen annes lace out of mt flower beds, and every time I thought I had it all out, more came up. but, now that I have moved and all the plants are in pots. now, maybe I am rid of it now.I was always pulling it out and it kept taking over everything. Can't plant my daylilies now where I am, the soil is so hard, can't possibly dig a hole in it.But, just as well I guess, I find it much easier to keep weeds out of them, altho,I still have some pots that has some weeds in them, Been too hot to stay outside long enough to do anything other then water them all....See MoreFirst Daylily of 2018 Season and O'Bannon Springs Order Arrived
Comments (7)Thanks everybody, number two to bloom should be Tribal Council, but we have had a spell of cloudy cool weather and it seems to be holding the bloom season back. Maryl, I have a number of "old trumpet shaped" daylilies and I love them, particularly since most are yellow and fragrant. David, Siloam Art Work going to be in full sun, so when it gets hotter here, we will keep a close eye on it, move it if necessary--thanks for the heads up. Debra and everybody else, it's really exciting to see the first scapes. We have lots and lots now, the leader of the unbloomed ones are Stella's Ruffled Fingers with 13 at this time. Who knows what I will find in the next day or two, it's so fun....See MoreNancy 6b
