Should I: (A) paint the walls whiter to better match the tile; or (B) leave as is with the Swiss coffee paint to add contrast?

Here is the current tile and paint:

I would wait until the room is done …and all the lighting is in…then decide…

Although the tile will be below the white cabinets, it won't have the same lighting (being either in the shadow of the cabinets or being lit with UC lighting, which may have a different effect than the overhead lighting). So trying to match the cabinets without having everying in place is probably an exercise in tilting at windmills. I think all three choices would probably look fine, so you are starting from a good point. The silk matches the counter the best. The pearl is closest to the cabs UNDER THE LIGHTING IN THE PHOTOS. But I don't have a strong preference, and I do think that there's a good chance that lighting would completely change my evaluation.

There are downsides to painting the tile, even if it comes out well initially and you don't use the super cheap rustoleum kit. One thing is you have to stay up on the cleaning - using it more frequently but not as abrasively. For example, I wouldn't be able to scrub the grout except for gently, maybe with a toothbrush. Also, this is not a very long term solution, maybe 3-5 years if taken care of. By then I will most likely be ready for something else anyway. To do the shower and tub together (black + white) costs less than $200 plus a weekend or so of my time, which I usually have very little of but I have plenty right now. I am not trying to argue my way of you guy's good logic, but providing more information just in case some comments were directed at cheaper products / perception of long term use (10-15 years). Also, I know a lot of you are professionals or otherwise experienced in these areas so I am still seeking and valuing your input.

The only practical reason for not painting the white trim is how tough it will be to go back to white later...your new color loses it impact with all those doors painted bright white...if you love the green i would paint over the doors to get the full effect...or at least the solid doors ...which will be easier to paint and re-paint later

I would leave it too. Next owner, may hate it painted, and if they dont, they can always paint it if they want to. Once its painted, you cant go back. Give new owners the option to do whatever they want to their new home.

At the moment Swiss Coffee looks yellow against the tile which I don't care for, but it is a good idea to wait before making your final decision on the wall color. If you do decide to repaint you don't necessarily need to look for a lighter color (Swiss Coffee is already pretty light), but a cooler white.

I would go lighter... BM Super White

But, it's a personal decision. I like a cleaner finish to start, especially in a bath.

Once everything is in, you probably need a cooler color. If it were me, I'd actually go DARKER to add some drama and interest. A nice medium blue with a touch of grey in it for example.

I would not go whiter. I would also suggest a richer color - get some nice contrast. But you do need the lighting complete first.

Good luck - remember - it's only paint - have some fun with it

Make sure you get a cooler white LED lighting. Saves a bit on electricity and much better look.
