Teeth whitening at the dentist?
Comments (34)Baking soda/peroxide~make a paste. Do a treatment every night for the first month. After that, once a week since it *is* hard on the enamel. Advice was given to me by my dentist who did bone graft surgical procedure/dental implants on me several years ago. Not only does it whiten the teeth, but helps with the ph balance of bacteria, good/bad. Also get a hydrofloss! Mine was given to me by him(probably since I was spending buku bucks!) You'll only need to do 'on the spot' flossing if you get something in your teeth while eating!! You can use it every night, sometimes i'll add a little mouthwash. It's a fairly intense spray if you have it turned up all the way. Any loose crowns WILL come out, so do be aware and maybe have the drain closed. A couple of my kids tried mine and loved it so much I gave them as gifts for Christmas. Here is a link that might be useful: hydrofloss...See MoreAny opinions on teeth whitening?
Comments (8)the bleaching systems- ALL of them- are short-term fixes unless you folow them up with having those whiter teeth bonded- which is pricey, but would be worth it if it really mattered that much... but then, if it really mattered, none of us would ever touch another cup of coffee ; ) from what I have seen, the over-the-counter strips work just as well as the slime-in-a-mouthpiece methods, at a tenth the price... and I'm noticing that my friend (who used to be a dental hygenist, and is now an aesthetician with a string of certificates) won't go near them, sell them, or recommend them to any of her clients... that tells ME all I need to know....See MoreTeeth Whitening???
Comments (7)I don't think the strips work good at all...I have some and don't use them. I bought bleach from my dentist and had a bleaching tray molded to fit my upper teeth. (Dentist said at the time that my bottom teeth don't really show so I wouldn't have to bleach them.) Anyway I wish I would have had a bottom tray made too. My teeth whitened about 4 shades...They look soooo much better. My daughters are really white. She uses the same thing I do. The bleach come in a syringe. 4 to a package for about 25.00. The expense was in the tray. I rebleach every now and then when I think about it. two or three months apart or more.. My dentist says his wife bleaches hers a couple times a week and she still has her teeth...lol patti...See MoreTeeth whiteners
Comments (13)I had used baking soda and also peroxide over the years and they both got rid of tea/coffee stains but not nearly as well as the new products. I used forever white (from an infomercial) about a year ago and saw dramatic results (about $39) More recently I used Crest white strips ($35). I did the top teeth only out of curiosity and saw dramatic results again after a couple weeks. What I like is that these products are not abrasive like whitening toothpastes. I would strongly recommend the new products - my friend got a kit from her dentist for $350 and I didn't think it worked any better than the over the counter....See Morebbstx
