My live in Boydriend sleeps with his daughter in our room
Comments (8)Yet even worse companion thread to "Underwear". There is nothing acceptable about either situation, and as stated previously yours carries an implication of pedophilia. Whatever, exactly, he is up to kicks me out of the room should have had a stop put to it the first time it happened. By whatever means necessary, including breaking up with him if you have to - as with "Underwear" one of the two adults in the picture is being completely disrespected. If in addition the one child is being molested, well then not only has it been made clear that the adult relationship is very seriously flawed but there is also a need for a child to be saved from an abuse situation. By whatever means necessary....See MoreLosing sleep over a BLAH living room
Comments (13)HI- The first thing I see is the door on the left side of the fireplace ... I think is a bit of a problem . Do you think that door opening can be moved around the corner ? Then close that side off and match to the wood wall . Will the sofa work if you had it coming off the right side of the fireplace ...would that then put it in front of a window ? Then a pair of small modern square chairs can set across facing the sofa .... this is why that door opening has to be closed off. To modernize the fireplace either paint the brick part or put some tile over the brick in some marble or plain tiles in white or black ...which ever looks good with the wood . Have matching bookcases on each side of fireplace backed with mirror - or matching chests or accent tables with large mirror above on each side . A nice moden shiny firescreen . A big round clock or a modern painting above the mantel . A rug that fits inside of the wood border of the wood floor perhaps in a textured wool in a neutral color . Full height side drape panels - back tab on rod with blinds over windows . Keep the room fairly uncluttered with only what you need and a few chosen decor items . You may need to re-paint ... a good warm white is "Greek Villa " by Sherwin Williams ( no yellow in it ) ... or " China White " by Benjamin Moore - this has a slight blue under tone that will work with the sofa ....See MoreHello need help picking colors . Comments (2)I’m trying to get a color to go with the gray couches . Not sure the light gray at bottom of pic or the darker gray at top of same pic. Putting in a dark gray rug . Theirs a red accent wall thinking of paint the dark teal at bottom of other photo. Not sure to paint entrance with dark gray and the living room with light gray or opposite way . Any help would be appreciated thanks ....See Morehelp!!! I need to choose a colour to go in my living-room /dining-room
Comments (25)Sounds like a fireplace re-do might be a longer-term fix. In the meantime, I'd paint the mantle a dark brown, a similar colour to your end tables. It's not trim and shouldn't be white. It pops out too much in the white colour. Another idea that doesn't involve any ripping-out is to go right over the existing mantle using a mantle slipcover in wood. Here's one of many how-to's on the internet. If you stained your brick as well, you could have a whole new look. https://www.fwmadebycarli.com/2011/01/making-of-slip-covered-mantel.html...See MoreSusie .
