Change the horizontal siding to vertical to match the gables and pain it all ONE color. Maybe lose the trim around the horizontal siding on the right. Landscaping.

IMO the brick on the house stays the brick on the garages goes, I agree all vertical siding and all one color ideally a color from the brick like a dark gray maybe . What style do you want from this house ? I would change the front door too. Landscaping will be ahuge improvement for sure.

Why would they go with brick on the garage and not siding since they couldn't match it?? I would tear the brick off the garage and side it. Someone will no doubt say paint it brick and all one dark gray color. That is a look that's popping up all over. I just wonder how long it will look good? It certainly elevates your look into this decade!! I agree about removing the horizontal siding. Start over on that side of the house and get slats that reach from gable to the brick. You have some stump removal ahead of you. Hopefully there is money in escrow for that job. A fresh landscape plan will do wonders.

Paint or limewash the brick to de emphasize the busy color and pattern.

I'd leave the brbrick, but plant aan Evergreen between the garage and house. I'd leavethe siding, but paint it a color that works sith the brick. I'd make syre sure the trim worksworks with the paint as in not bright white and tautaupe. I'd paint the horizontal trim tge same as the rest if the house.

I think you can fix a myriad of problems and colors by painting everything, including the brick, one color, such as the greenish gray on the gables. Trim around doors and windows and the posts can be white or an accent, but the divider trim pieces should be the body color. About the suggestion to remove the brick from the entire garage and replace it with siding…. no, no. Just no. Have you ever removed brick from anything? Holy cow that would be so expensive. Just use the proper paint product for the brick.

Since this is a ranch, get out your paint and start painting the left to match the right. I have told the story several times on here about my MIL painting the brick on their 1960s ranch. She didn't like that it was a flat , all one color brick so she grabbed a few paints colors and started painting. It looked great and looked like it was always that way,

Grab some paint from the darker side and try painting the lighter bricks. You don't have much to lose.

We had a 1968 house that a half brick, half siding situation. Took me forever to decide what to do. After looking at comparable homes that worked with the brick versus houses that just painted the whole body, i decided to paint the body all one color. That was about 13 years ago. id do it again.

Your brick is just not special enough to let it boss around your curb appeal.

Do you LIKE the brick? it's nothing special so painting it (with the appropriate material. Romabio) woldn't be a downgrade.

I suggest you head over and look at Brick and Batten. check out their before on afters, especially on the brick/siding ranch homes. tons of them. you'll be amazed at how beautiful you can mae this home. (landscaping too)
