What color are your floors? Want to make sure whatever you pick will look good with whatever is staying.

Your cabinets are yellow orange and floor is red orange. A cream that leans orange will play down the cabinets while anything in the blue/green family will make them stand out. Sherwin Williams Natural Linen may be a nice lighter neutral if you want something that blends. The paint color in the kitchen below may be a little lighter but has similar hues to your kitchen.

Your kitchen reminded me of this oak kitchen with the dark blue walls. The first time i saw it i was struck by how good it looked.

Another paint color to try is BM Indian White.

The biggest bang for buck in here might be lighting. Consider some undercab lights and swapping out the ceiling fixtures with a couple track systems thatll spread more lighting throughout the room.

Whatever color yiu choose, its worth the time to grab a big piece of white foam core or poster board from the dollar store, paint it up with a sample pot of paint and see how you like it. Choosing wall color from a small chip is a gamble.

the green or blue will bring out the orange from the cabinets. I'd like to do the opposite: mute it down

If you dont like the contrast, then a cream with an orange undertone might be what neutralizes the overall orangey-ness in the room.

if you want to go close to white, Benjamin Moore Alabaster is a nice off-white that leans yellow-red. Definitely sample anything. Samplize makes it really easy - will fed ex large samples to you. Are you keeping the countertop? Make sure whatever you pick works with it, especially if you want an off-white because you don't want it to clash.

I'd like bm paint as close to natural linen from SW as possible. I have not been very succesful and I really I don't trust my choices here. You mentioned that the cabinets have an orange-yellow undertone and the floor orange-red. So a paint with an orange undertone should work for that kitchen. What would you recommend from BM? in Beige colors?

Beige will make the room look old and dated. Stick with the off whites that don't brown out in the light.

Like the others have said order color samples and stick them on the wall and look throughout the day, including evening.

Any paint dealer (not big box) will be able to mix the paint from one manufacturer to another. It will vary slightly because of the base mix (each company is proprietary) so bring your sample with you to make sure it is not a miss tint.

Benjamin Moore Muslin is close to SW Natural Linen. If you need to use BM, then let’s look at just BM. Matching is not perfect because the manufacturers have different base colors, so the mix rarely looks right to me. I had a painter who switched manufacturers on me once and nothing came out right. Ended up repainting some rooms! Of course if you sample the matched color first, it should be fine. Again, make sure whatever you get works with your countertop also.

Make sure to get those large samples before choosing your color. I had pink beige carpet in the bedrooms of my last house and painted them BM Muslin because it had enough pink in it to relate to those pink-beige carpets. YMMV

BM Muslin is a great color, though.

I would remove wallpaper, prime the walls, add hardware to the cabinets and then choose a paint color.

And paint the ceiling with flat ceiling paint.

The paint will be done, I'll try for the SW natural linen, I really liked it.

However, I have another problem: the laminate top of the countertop started to unglue itself. So now I have to change the laminate for the countertops. What best color would you recommend so it would match the cabinets and the floor?

Are you sure you want to open that can o' worms? I think you can just glue it back.

Laminate is a pretty easy and inexpensive DIY job. The downside is there are LOTS of choices.

I'm not a person who can do it myself. It also implies changing the kitchen sink. Sigh

White is easy. If you do replace it. It is really easy to glue it back on also.

Hi All. I have to replace the counters/laminate. The photo does not show but there is water dammage around the sink also. I don't want to open this can of worms but I'm concerned I have to :(

Fortunately, your countertop appears to be relatively simple and straightforward. If you have an ikea nearby they have simple, affordable laminate countertops. If you don't have the muscle or skill maybe a handyman type could help you.

That looks like Wilsonart's notorious blue glue contact cement which was settled in a class action lawsuit. Fabricators got killed at .33 on the dollar. Sure you can glue it back, but if it's blue glue, it's futile.
