Need help please with front door color-Pics
Comments (13)I googled Spanish houses and found a bunch of images but the numbers keep changing on them so I can't reference them. The ones I like had dark trim around the windows. I know you just want to paint the door for now, but later down the road you might consider painting the fascia white or to match the tiles and then paint the window and the pergola that dark green color. I found a picture of a color that is something like that caramel apple, but maybe a little lighter. That would also work with the dark green. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.hickerphoto.com/data/media/205/spanish-village_11771.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.hickerphoto.com/spanish-village-morella-11771-pictures.htm&usg=__bvXdh2zaJ5TFliT6X_VNVPxM2qk=&h=311&w=468&sz=37&hl=en&start=48&zoom=1&tbnid=Q2ERDMXvti0grM:&tbnh=147&tbnw=217&ei=f-e4TbPSEMrq0gGrvPz-Dw&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dspanish%2Bhouses%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3DZMJ%26sa%3DX%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26biw%3D1289%26bih%3D609%26tbm%3Disch1%2C1163&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=641&vpy=296&dur=3275&hovh=183&hovw=276&tx=137&ty=141&page=4&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:48&biw=1289&bih=609 (I'm sorry that link is so long.) I think it would be cool if you planted some espaliered fruit trees or shrubs along that long wall on the left. With some soft up-lighting that would be very dramatic at night....See MoreHelp needed on new trim color to go with new front door
Comments (3)I love that door! That deep red brick is very powerful, saturated color, and it needs Trim and accents that can stand up to it without battling. British racing green, a deep blackish green or greenish black, or charcoal, ith a little bit of thin white lines (more experienced people will have advice as to exactly how to place this), would be beautiful. I would use something just a tad lighter for that floor. Given the fact that people are going to be walking on it and leaving scuffs and shoe prints, I'm afraid the darker colors would always look messy....See Morenew front door color help!
Comments (10)Consider painting your garage doors the same color as your siding. I like teal or turquoise with tan: Navy would look very classic: Red is also a nice choice with tan It is hard to tell from the picture if you have a patio/terrace in front of the lone window between the garage doors and the front door or not. If you do add a black bench with pillows that are the same color as the front door. If you do not have a terrace there, consider adding one with some plants in pots for more color and fun. No to shutters, the house already has a lot going on....See MoreOrange brick 1950's ranch please help picking a new shutter color?
Comments (14)try using a latex paint remover. you can find it at the big stores. grab a stiff wire brush and a bucket of water. it should work enough so that you don't see it. I photoshopped a few doors/colors/address plaques and lights for you. see what you like. ('cuz that 1950's grandma front door needs to go along w/those shutters!) I like the black option w/copper. the copper will compliment the brick color and the black always looks good w/both I like this door. And, you might think about painting the trim around the windows (did you notice I covered up all your shutters?? looks good huh?) in a darker trim color. gave you this mahogany glass panel door. modern black numbers, a modern chair. I'd paint the other door one of these dark colors, bring in a more modern light. If black is too harsh, think about Urbane Bronze or Iron Ore. both look great w/orange brick. try something modern like this w/the numbers, potted plants, lighting, Here is an orange brick house with complimentary colors and light fixtures. another nice door color is a peacock blue, sage, blue/green, tone soft blue/green with copper and your orange brick always look good Yam color door, bronze light, warm wood and gray tones also work. Here's a door w/natural wood. black mailbox and light (but I like the others above better) are those posts cedar or painted? These color palettes are also perfect w/your brick. (don't forget to paint your side door too....See Morelaurieem
