Living room decorating configuration dilemma

I have never tried this, hoping for some expert advice, please. I've provided 4 photos of the living room for perspective, 2 pictures of 2 different sofas, and the puffy one is the one I love. We are looking to purchase 2 sofas, perhaps 2 different lengths, but the same fabric. The room is not large 14×14. We are always short on sitting. Worried the sofa I love is too deep for the room.
Option 1 - 2 sofa's sizing approx 90w x 45D facing each other, I'm open to suggestions. We can change to a rectangular coffee table in the middle of the room. If I leave the coffee table as is, there are 20 inches left on either side. Between sofas and table.
Option 2 - 2 sofas with approx same length and but the sofa off the wall is 41D and the deeper 45D sofa would be against window, they would be different styles, pictures attached, again fabric will be the same for both Chenille beige that matches texture look of stone above fireplace.
Option 3 - Both should be 41D and give up on the 45D, that I love
I love love love the deeper sofa and think it has to go under the window because it's so deep and the stairs will hide the depth and it would face when entering room. We have tried to configure the burgundy chairs on the wall opposite the windows, but it's too sparce, and I do like my chairs on either side of fireplace.

Definitely go with the sofa you love! I would pick two sofas the same length, place one against the windows and the other facing it. Then I would adjust the chairs as needed, maybe moving one to that corner where the loveseat is (its a bit hard to tell from photos, but that should fit there!) Get some smaller accent tables than those you have and you'll have more room and it won't feel cluttered.

I also suggest swapping out your rug to a more monochromatic one. The colors themselves make the room feel crammed with stuff, even where there is open space, which will make the room feel even smaller.

If you have a seating issue, I have a suggestion: swapping out a traditional coffee table for movable ottomans. We have two squares that act as a coffee table or a foot rest, but they can be used for additional seating as needed. This also helps give more space between the sofas since you're worried about that space. You can also purchase a hard ottoman topper (think a tray) that works if you like coffee or plates or anything on there that you don't want spilling over.

I agree W/ Hala. get what you love. The same size and directly across from each other.

Other things I would consider,

new rug

eliminate the dark brown wall it will really not fair well with the new sofa and is shrinking the room

A new rug, as it wll also not go with the new sofa and is very much boxing in this room.

The pilaster/glass coffee table and side tables where fantastic in the 90's but you could do with an update, smaller and easier to move around. an ottoman would be great or a round coffee table to give more foot space.

We had the same problem and decided against a rug under the pool table - looked "off" and we were worried about people tripping on the edges of the rug as they moved around the table. We also have two chairs to the side and did put a rectangular rug under them. We're really happy with the final result. One thing that definitely helped us - foam squares that link together. I think we got them at Target. Using those we were able to outline different rug sizes in every room before actually making a purchase. Very helpful in our decision making.

This living room is similar to yours......see if all the pieces shown can fit into your room in this configuration...it has large windows and a short wall adjacent to the windows for the TV. Sofas and or sofa and love seat, pair of benches, console for large TV on wall opposite the sofa for ease of viewing....large cocktail table. Another room with possibilities. I think your room is big enough that you can have a sofa and a set of chairs or another sofa and another chair as is show in these rooms.....the important thing is to have your sofa or largest seating piece facing the sofa for ease of viewing.

I think the space would open up if you removed the wainscot. It is creating a "box" that stops the eye and says, "That's all, folks!" I agree with Suki Kabuki that the ladder shelves must go. They always remind me of college decor, along with milk crate shelves. Consider putting the TV on the wall where the ladder shelves are, floating the sofa facing it and moving the dining table near the window where you now have the TV area. I think you should eliminate one of rugs and only use one at the sofa. The two side tables by the TV are cluttering, but you might use the taller one by a sofa arm if it arrives within and inch of it, up or down. Get yourself sorted out with these issues and post new photos. We can go from there.

The focal point of a family room is always the fireplace/TV, and that sets the stage for how the furniture should be configured. So in your case, I would move the TV to the wall that has the fireplace. I would get two pieces of matching wood furniture cabinets to go on either side of the fireplace, and then hang the TV over one of them. Then pull your couch into the center of the room facing that focal point wall you just created. Then get two accents chairs to complete the seating configuration. And then you need a larger coffee table. Start with that.

that was all very helpful. Thank you very much!!! I have decided on the sofa I love, and opposite sofa looks almost identical but 3 seats and same size.

Yes rug and coffee table need to go next, and will do. Ottoman, I'm looking into. Colour on fireplace is actually olive green and will be keeping, it lights up the stone on the fireplace.
