What a beautiful room! I think the corner is perfect just as it is and would allow the windows to provide the only detail needed. It may be that the space looks bare after having had the tree there, but truly I do think it's nice and open as is, and the entire space has a clean-lined look to it.

I agree with Ida. Since your style is modern there is nothing wrong with a little empty space - and it is small. I don't love the round mirror over the one sofa, but I do love the prints over the other sofa. So I would change the mirror to something else and not worry about the corner. Leave it empty for next Christmas.

I think you could move your blue sofa a little closer to the window. Would create a little more breathing room next to the other sofa.

Nice space. I would just bring the two couches closer to the fireplace to pull the grey one off the wall. Then I'd swap the tall rectangular side table with the one by the plant so as not to obstruct the window too much.

As plants person, i would add one large and few small to the corner. No to lamp.

Perhaps you could use a larger end table at that end of the sofa. Yours is quite small, at any rate. For evenings , it would be nice to balance the ambient light at either end of the sofa with a table lamp . Or you might use a small chest by the front window . Something in rattan would further the aesthetic in your lovely room. Something more solid at the bottom , and sculptural, as an end table ( like the hourglass table ) wouldn’t really be filling the corner but would bring more visual weight there.

I don't think a couple of plants will fill the space enough. I would do one sizeable fiddle-leaf fig tree in that spot. That will add visual weight and beauty to the area.

An empty space doesn't always have to be filled with something. People forget one of the most important aspects in interior design is function. Plants are nice but if you don't really want one there, you can place one anywhere else. Your shutters look beautiful, the whole room is well-put. I would leave it alone. It would look more cluttered with a floor lamp and plant and would take away from your minimalist goal.

I don't think you necessarily have to put something in that corner. There's something to be said for negative space. The only thing that jumped out at me is I would lower the round mirror slightly so that the center of the mirror is at the same height as the center of the pictures on the left wall.

My first thought: what corner?

My second thought: why is the foreground void of furniture?

My third thought: why is there and ottoman and a chaise sandwiched together?

You obviously have great taste, good use of color and style so Im thinking there is a reason, to the corner a plant on a raised stand would be good. mid mod is not cluttered.

I like the idea of a potted plant. It would benefit from the window location and would fill the space in a lovely way without taking away from the window.

Another option might be to go with a wider side table and put a lamp on the side table.

Your room is so very lovely as it is today. I don't think you need anything, but I can see how with the blinds closed, the corner is a little lonely.

A fiddle leaf fig in a basket would be perfect. It would do well in front of the windows. they grow quickly. Mine was only two feet tall two years ago! Beautiful room!

The rug doesn't do a good job of "grounding" this room IMO. I've tried a few other styles so you can see the difference.

Also, all your seating looks as though it's glued to the walls. Try moving the sofas away from the walls by about 6 inches. It will improve the appearance.

Playing around..not the best mock-up but it provides a visual for you..added another plant. Would love to see wood woven Roman shades to match the flooring instead of white blinds.

I'm a maximalist for sure and would put a plant there. Try something small like the same size as your snake plant or try something tall! You could also get a wider side table to fill that space as well
