Trim/Siding Paint Color for 60s Brick Ranch
Comments (22)soooo .. if i understand.. you dont really mind the front facade ... its more the sides that are bothering you ... thats where the monotone is.. to your eye ... i guess i dont know why you would not just change the sides??? but boy.. looking at the side .. i have no clue where i would go with those vertical lines .... and that tiny window... yikes ... but i still like the front as it is ... part of your side problem.. could be accomplished with trellises.. and introducing a vertical element to your foundation plantings ... that is part of the problem... the vast unbroken wall ... leading you to one vast unbroken color.. whatever it may be ... and i am still flustered by the vertical rather than horizontal siding.. whats that all about.. lol ... just playing devils advocate.. and adding variables for you to consider.. outside the box you are standing in .. props for hunting the area to scope out other paint schemes... its always nice to see it done wrong... lol ... ken...See MoreSharon1 - I'd like to see more!
Comments (21)kbmas0n, No my kitchen isn't in the FKB. Everytime I go to take a lot of pics, they're either blurry or I have stuff all over the counters! I'll work on it one of these days. The white cabs are just a creamy white (kelly moore), but I don't remember the name and the glaze is a brown I picked up at Lowes and gave to my cabinet guy. The outer cabs are knotty alder, with some sort of dark stain my cabinet guy came up with. The island top is dark walnut and the floors are oak. appliances are subzero, dacor df, monorgram convection/mico, monogram compactor, miele dw, copper main sink, and shaws prep sink. Once I get some decent pics, I'll see if starpooh will put in the fkb. Thanks...See MoreExterior paint color advice for brick ranch
Comments (6)Thanks for the feedback! And thanks for affirming my instinct to keep shutters and to do white windows bc it is such a traditional house. I’m leaning toward painting brick shade of white with maybe a tan shutter and dark wood door with glass panes. We were toying with dark windows bc we have seen house in our neighborhood doing it but couldn’t tell it that was really the right look for our house....See MorePaint scheme help for 1950s brick ranch (renders included)
Comments (17)I have lighter brick (pink) with red siding and some areas of red decorative vertical metal siding with cream trim. One of my many projects (renovating stem to stern) is painting the red metal to match the siding and along with power washing everything, repainting trim and treating everything with once and done (keeps mildew from growing). Already painted the garage door, but don't have a current picture....See Morekandrewspa
