Comments (2)Stop doing for this kid.Stop going to his activities. What I'm about to say(not toward you though)will sound very cold hearted.Stop worrying about him and emotionally protect yourself, his ulcer included. Why is his Father not taking him in for treatment. It is his Father's responsibility.Urge your DH once to take him for ulcer treatment then let it go. Do not give up anymore independence, financial security or your sanity for this kid bc at the end of the day ?The kid will not appreciate it.Sounds to me like juvenile detention would make a nice home for this kid.Along with Psychiatric help.It would take ONCE seeing my kid beat an elderly person I would put his hind end in that detention center so fast his head would spin.He sounds like an endangerment to others and himself. If there is anyway to go back to your chosen profession you should look into that. You have given up way to much.Your DH needs to get this kid into a psychiatrist and perhaps put him in the system before he beats someone(maybe even you)to severe damage or death....See MoreMy succulent is dying and I don't know what to do. Comments (16)Agree with Matt, leaves look rotting but are also sunburned. Rot wasn't visible in other photos. Many of the leaves are sunburned toward the tips... I wouldn't worry much about looking for turface and/or bark unless they are easily found. I went thru all of that (as many others did); found turface but not too lucky with bark (lots available, but is too large - 2" and bigger). So I settled for mix I use, with ingredients I mentioned in previous post (including photo I posted). BTW, I have read all posts by Al. I am very strong 'believer' ...but if you understand principle, you can make excellent mix using materials easily available, without going crazy looking for exactly the same...For example: Al's recipe doesn't call for perlite. But knowing perlites water holding capacity, one can figure out what it is good for and use it as a substitute for substrate not so easily found. There are many other substrates that are excellent if used in making well draining mix....See MorePlease help! I don't know what I'm doing.
Comments (9)It's not unusual to find BSFL in a worm bin. But large numbers are a sure indicator that you have put too much food in. They like fresh food like fruits and veggies best. Some people like BSFL in their bins because the larvae will break down whatever food is there, consume what they want, and then the worms can clean up the rest. But, there are two problems if it gets out of hand. First, the BSFL will break down fresh fruits and veggies, and release a lot of the water. Then the juices begin to ferment and become acidic. Worms hate that kind of environment, and it will even kill them. You can tell if it's come to that by the smell. Sharp, acidic. Secondly, BSFL eat in a hurry. It's a feeding frenzy. There's lots of movement, rushing, and feeding. The worms don't really like that, and they will move far to the sides until the BSFL are done partying. If you have a bin full of partying BSFL, there will be no room for the worms, and they will give up and die between being pushed to the edges and beyond, and the acidic environment. BSFL and worms can cohabit, but only if the BSFL are in small populations. I suggest that you put in more bedding. If you have room in the bin, and it looks like you do, double it. Also, put in a few handsful of "clean" dirt. You don't normally need dirt in a worm bin, but dirt is a very forgiving worm bin filler. There is a lot of bacteria in dirt and it will help to absorb some of that extra food, and help level things out in the bin....See MoreHelp! Comments (6)A perfect wall for wallpaper (and could add to back of shelving). I would change the mirrors, hardware, taps and lighting so it’s all coordinated. Love the combination below but just use a paper with a cream background and use same shade in your paint choice. My daughter in law purchased the wallpaper below for her powder room and it’s lovely. Only &39.99 for a double roll at Beauclair. She used a creamy white paint....See MoreHU-996389822
