Espresso Cabinet, Granite and Backsplash set up
Comments (45)Hard to say if it works without the tile being photographed with the slab. Did you do that check? That sealed it for us. If you can put the tile sample in front of the slab and not see anything that looks off, you're good! Would like to see that photo! But I think the soft flowing lines of the first choice is better than the very modern, rigid lines of the second. I think either will read pretty much as a solid, so there's no advantage to using the second for less competing pattern with the granite. The gray in the tiles should be fine, and the cream seems to be a little peachy like the granite. The granite is very peachy, so you wouldn't want that in your floor tile....See MoreSolid neutral quartz counter tops to go with Calacatta gold backsplash
Comments (10)@Beth H. - thank you for your comments. I don't think we want to have dark counter tops. The kitchen is open to our family room. The minimal wall space in the kitchen will be painted a light blue color, as will the walls in the family room. We were thinking about: a) white cabinets and island b) the Calacatta gold marble 3" x 6" tiles for the back splash c) light(ish) counter tops on the perimeter and island (perhaps with some grey coming through d) medium brown hardwood floors We thought about using walnut for the island surface, but decided against it due to maintenance issues. If we didn't want to have dark counter tops, are there any other options? Thanks!...See MoreBacksplash recommendation with beadboard cabinets?
Comments (7)Would love to see what the final result is. I'm getting ready to redo a teeny, tiny kitchen and was considering bead board cabinets for my mid 1930's beachy, cottage. I always wanted white subway tile and was thinking the lines will be an issue and googled ideas and found this page. I have not committed to the cabinets just yet will be doing so this week. I can change to shaker or shaker with a little added trim detail (would match the linen closet). I would love to see what you have done with your backsplash and counters. I love carrarra marble but am concerned about scratching, staining etc....See MoreHelp choosing backsplash and quartz for off white cabinets
Comments (9)it gets down to budget. QUARTZ GRANITE OR CORIAN ARE ALL different pricepoints Quartz counters are fabulous but expensive. Based on your info provided I would create a palette [ inspiration board] and start with the most that could be done here....first .look at wood look vinyl planks for a new floor.....what do you most desire for counters ? will there be an overhang ? likely a subway tile backsplash .........look for a directional sconce above the sink for some detail .....re: those vinyl floor planks...they have many textures and shades to mimic wood looks...so if you start w something that interests you for a new floor [bring home samples] then the counter options fall in line much more easily. But again.....only you know the budget you have at hand. It looks like the floor will go beyond to the dining area w four chairs......so measure ....but I think the planks would really fit in w a bit more modern feel as you state....See MoreMaureen
