Books for Chicago rose book lovers.
Comments (0)I have three rose books that I don't need anymore. David Austin's English Roses by David Austin, 100 English Roses for the American Garden by Clair Martin, and The Graham Stuart Thomas Rose Book. The weather sucks and I thought there are people who do NOT have a spray free garden and would like some books on English roses. The books are wonderful with great pics. If someone wants them just email me and you can pick them up. I thought about shipping but thought I would start of local to save myself the trouble of packing and the post office. Comments (5)I was perusing one of my favorite rose blogs, and stumbled upon the book reference and You Tube video. I later noticed that the book was the topic of a thread from last year. I clearly missed the previous forum posting, and posted the information for anyone unfamiliar with the book or video. One thing I noticed is that there seems to be a Women in my Garden book released by the publisher in 2014, and one from earlier this year. I am sooo busy, and have not found the time to research the difference if there is any??? I enjoyed the video content and learned how to "properly" pronounce some of the rose names. My second language knowledge etc. is Spanish, which is not particularly helpful for so many French names. Lynn...See MoreAnother new rose book for California people
Comments (2)Oooooo! Not just for Californians! Ingrid, ha, ha! Rose porn. I'd modestly hesitate before referring out loud to Peter Beales' books or Paul Barden's website by that nickname, but it's true. Lustful reading and photo gazing for sure! Rosefolly, I believe that it's you I have to thank for recommending Pink Ladies and Crimson Gents. I purchased it and carry it to doctors appts. and such. A fun and informative read!
